Does Disney have points sales? With the closing of its parks in China, Japan, and perhaps next Paris ( https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/03/business/coronavirus-business-travel.html ) what would we expect for ts if Orlando closed?

I would assume the same response as their Hurricane policy. That is unrestricted cancelations and they wave the holding account if the criteria is met for a Hurricane. That is a Hurricane warning (not just watch) is issued for the members home or the DVC destination. This does not cover connections enroute though. On a case by case basis they've also allowed banking past the window and returning borrowed points to the original UY. What I don't think they've ever done is to allow one to bank again points that were previously banked and they can't generate availability at a later date if there is none at DVC (hotels are an unrelated component). They specifically state you're on your own with third parties such as airlines. But you'll still have to pay dues even if you can't use the points.
