I need to book 1 extra night with points for our trip, there is no availability, we go in 4 weeks, should I keep checking back or not likely at this short time that there will any become available?

To wait list for DC points you'll have to call, my answer assumed it was DC points rather than reward points. They do tie up the points. You will have some choices as to when to cut off the waitlist so make sure it's either before your cancelation date of the cash option or your call in and cancel the wait list by the last day you can cancel the cash reservation. I know there have been some changes on the Marriott side for canceling so make sure you look at that carefully for the cash options. Good luck.

you may be able to get an owners discount booking with Marriott as well.

You should get an email, call if you don't by tomorrow but I think the last time it took a couple of days before I got it.

Book a reservation on Marriott using whatever discount code you have. I don't think you should have trouble. If they tell you on line that you need to stay for more than one night, book it for two nights and then call reservations and cancel the other night.

Dean thanks again! Got my waitlist confirmed already after 24 hours so they obviously had inventory not available online to book! Something new I learned..... thanks!
