HGVC Seaworld
Just comparing the current points chart to one from about 12 years ago when Parc Soliel opened.

Does anyone know/has anyone noticed when (what year) weeks 44-50 were changed from SILVER to GOLD season at Parc Soleil and Tuscany? Any idea why the same weeks at Sea World stayed at SILVER season?

Likewise, does anyone know/has anyone noticed when (what year) weeks 49-50 were changed from GOLD to SILVER season at Flamingo and Paradise but not Boulevard? Any idea what happened to the members who bought and owned weeks 49/50 GOLD weeks at these resorts from HGVC and now find themselves with a SILVER week. Is HGVC allocating points based the new SILVER season or are the allocating points based on the old GOLD season? Or did they take back all these weeks?

Has anyone owned a week that had the points changed? Can you share your experience? I'm really interested to know what happens when they reduce the points associated with the week you own?

I don't believe that points season changed, I own at Seaworld and it has been some time that Seaworld (built first) had those weeks as silver but the newer builds Tuscany and Parc Soleil when built had those same weeks as gold. I have a book dating back to 2011 and they have been that way all along.

Same in Vegas older resorts have silver, but new builds Blvd, Trump Elara were classified as gold.

Thank you Sandy.

My bad. I just took a second reading. I was reading off an old 1997 printed colour season chart. It just reads as HGVC Orlando resort and HGVC Las Vegas so it is before Tuscany, Parc and Blvd were built. Also, I misread the colour chart. Back in 1997 Vegas weeks 49/50 were Bronze weeks not Gold - so they upgraded those weeks to Silver and a few others such as Ft.Myers Beach as well.

i was thinking what you said happened would not be allowed

It was also noted on the old TUG forum that HGVC changed the point requirement in the late 90s for Flamingo (see below).
Here’s what I remember reading since joining TUG back in 2002.

"...Later in the 90's, HGVC decided to have both floating and fixed Platinum weeks to more closely correspond to the seasons and pricing in Orlando. Gold weeks became floating Platinum; silver owners were upped to Gold and bronze week owners now had Silver designation and there were no more bronze weeks in Las Vegas..I think that all happened in either 1997 or 1998.."

I was thinking the same. Anyone that owns a silver week must have enough points to be capable of reserving a week at their home resort during their home season, right?

I guess HGV could upgrade folks for free? "Congratulations, your unit is now gold season -- here are some free points"(?)
