I'm new to the Marriott system, trying to find as much info as possible to make an informed decision. I'm interested in purchasing a resale Custom House Platinum floating TS and have a couple of questions.
1-How do floating weeks get deposited into II? (only familiar with fixed wk deposits)
2-How do internal trades work owning floating weeks?
3- With only 84 units I assume reservations are needed 10 or more months out?
Any other tip/feedback is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the feedback :)

Answer to question 1:

You make a reservation for an available week in your season. Provide that confirmation number and dates to II. Then that week is deposited to II.

1. Call marriott and make a reservation for the best week you can.

2. The only way to trade internally is if you have destination points. Everything else is through II.

3. Make your reservation one year out.

Keep in mind that this is an RTU property (Right to use). The expiration of your title/deed will be in 2057, so you'll get 35 years use.

1-How do floating weeks get deposited into II? (only familiar with fixed wk deposits)

You have a couple options, you can call up Marriott Owner Services or go online and say you want to exchange your week through II. This is not a good option because Marriott likely won't select a prime week to deposit in to II. The second and better option to to go online or call in at 12 months out and make a reservation for the best week you can. Holiday weeks or other weed with high TDI values in II are the best to reserve.

2-How do internal trades work owning floating weeks?

Marriott now has a new internal trading program called their Destinations Club (DC in Tug speak). By buying resale after 6/20/2010, you won't have an option to use this. Though when exchanging through II you will still have the internal Marriott to Marriott exchange preference in II where you will be able to see and confirm exchanges in II before non Marriott owners can see those weeks.

3- With only 84 units I assume reservations are needed 10 or more months out?

Best to always book as early as possible 12 months out as a single week owner, 13 months out if you are a multiple week owner booking consecutive or concurrent weeks. At Custom House you also have daily use options available to you.

Any other tip/feedback is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the feedback :)

Thank you so much for the feedback!!...so glad I joined TUG.
For trading purposes, being this a 1 bedroom unit, would I only be able to trade for another 1 bedroom or a 2 bedroom depending on this particular resort's trading power perhaps?

The Custom House Villas will trade as a 2 Bedroom. That being said, you'll also be able to also trade into a studio and one bedroom.
