Please advice - reserving online

Hi, I'm new to timeshare and to this board and learning a lot!
I'd like to reserve week 35 (Labor Day) for Timber Lodge for 2008.
The calendar shows week 35 starting on Aug29 (Friday), so do I try to call or go online on Aug 29 or 28 (thursday?) at 9AM to make the reservation with MVCI?

And for reserving online, should I click through all the pages (like verifying address, special request...etc) until I see the calendar dates before 9AM? Then refresh the page at 9AM to see the date become available to be clicked on?

I know this probably isn't a peak peak week, but would like to learn all the tricks about how to reserve the date that we want for next year.

Yes - August 29th (if you are reserving one week) at 9 a.m. Eastern time (so adjust for the time zone you are living at). It's 6 a.m. for the west coast!

You can click through but don't do it too early as after a certain number of minutes, the Marriott site will kick you off and you will have to re-enter your I.D. and password. At 9:00 refresh the calendar page.

I agree with Jan. Call on the 29th - one year in advance. However, note that the 29th falls on a Wednesday!

I did it and got July 6th Aruba Ocean Club - right at 9 am.
And we're doing a direct exchange with a family for their
Marabella property.

Thanks for the reminder Dave. So even if I actually wanted to book a week starting on a Saturday (8/30), I can still call and book on the 29th (Wednesday for 2007) right?

Correct. When you call on the 29th, you can reserve a week starting on Friday the 29th, Saturday the 30th or Sunday the 31st.
