When you own a platinum plus week, are you only able to stay during that platinum plus week (eg week 52). Or, can you reserve a week during the platinum season as well (eg weeks 1 to 17 and 51).

only platinum plus via a Marriott reservation. Of course you may book it and then go to II to exchange back in.

At Harbour Lake with platinum plus you can reserve any of the platinum weeks if you choose to. You can't do it on-line but you can call Marriott reservations and they will do it for you.

It gets a little tricky at Frenchmans Cove. I was told when I bought that I could use any week in the Plat season with my Plat plus week 7. I tried to do that on the phone and I was told no that I had to use my week as a Plat week 7 or trade it in II if I wanted a different week. After a few conversations with supervisors it turns out that MVCI sale reps in the very beginning of sales at Frenchmans Cove did tell folks they could use that week anytime in the Plat season. I have it in writing that my MFC week can be used anytime in the season but I have to call and if the VOA says no I have to request to speak to a supervisor who will evidently pull my file and read a big note attached to it saying that I'm allowed to use any part of the Plat season. I have done this once without any problem.

With the DC system my PP+ week at MFC gets 4925 points. The Plat season requires 3725, 4125 or 2975 depending on which week you pick. Obviously if I were to pick a different week I would now use the DC system.

As you have probably surmised, the answer depends upon which property you are referring to. Some Plat. Plus owners have to trade via II or now the DC to reserve a Plat. week at their home resorts and at some resorts they can book the week directly.

My platinum plus week at MCV can be booked for other platinum weeks, at least according to my vacation advisor.
