I was interested in purchasing a fixed week contract and having it converted to points. What exactly is the process to have a contract converted? The cost? If there's a cost payable to Wyndham, will these resale contracts then be included in points towards VIP?

Others will chime in with the process, but the cost has been said to be $2395.

You can also convert a fixed week to points with the purchase of a new purchase from Wyndham and there are some resorts where you can only converta week with a retail purchase

The general rule is; if the week was purchased (by you) from the developer it will convert to VIP eligible points. However there have been exceptions and mistakes been made

For Wyndham fixed weeks, you can convert 1-5 weeks, the first at $2395 and $995 for each subsequent week. If you convert at the time of a retail purchase these conversions can be included without additional fee. Hawaii weeks will only convert with a retail purchase.

Converted weeks are not generally VIP eligible unless you purchased the underlying week directly rather than resale, but as Ron says, sometimes you get lucky.

Another possibility if you have non-Wyndham RCI-affiliated weeks is to PIC weeks. This also requires a retail purchase, but a 3BR red week can bring 254K VIP eligible points. So with 2 3BR red weeks you can PIC your way to VIP easily. The trick is to find RCI-affiliated weeks that are not RCI Points - if the week has been converted to RCI points it is not eligible to PIC.
