DW has been collecting Christmas nutcrackers for years, in a variety. Every year she lines this ledge on our stairway - Nutcrackers on parade -

Returning to Seattle from Bainbridge Island this evening on the WA State ferry.

This is an early winter morning picture I took about 20 years ago near Osakis, MN, when I was more serious about photography. It's one of my favorite photos from that time. It was a cold and still winter morning near the end of January, and overnight a near ground level radiational ice fog formed. Looking east the sun was just shy of coming over the horizon, but the sunrise was close enough to underlight the scene.

Often photography is simply being in the right place at the right time, and not screwing up the picture.

This is my (late) cat Simba taken in October, I had him since he was 2 months old in 2011. Last month, I had to put him to sleep due to cancer and multiple organ failure
