PIC going away?

That’s a fairly standard verification/audit letter over the past couple of years. It has nothing to do with the future of the PIC program and just serves to verify an owner still owns the timeshare that’s giving them benefits as a PIC.
I suspect that type of email would only go out to people who actually haven't elected points from their PIC. Depositing into RCI and getting Club Wyndham points in return seems like verification enough. If someone isn't doing that they might be thought to have unloaded their PIC week(s) just to have VIP benefits. The verification seems reasonable enough.

If you haven’t converted or provided proof of ownership for the underlying PIC property within the past two years, and you own a PIC contract, expect emails/form letters that require an audit to show proof of ownership. These are legit notifications and if ignored, may result in the removal of the PIC contract from the account. For VIP owners, this may result in loss of VIP or a lower VIP tier if the removal of the PIC contract results in the points threshold in the account falling below the tier requirement in scope.

As you said, the owners being contacted would be those who haven't been depositing their weeks. In that case it's reasonable, and from a good management standpoint, necessary for Wyndham to request proof that the owner still does own their PIC week or weeks.

People have been posting about this in the various Facebook groups. Unfortunately too many of the comments are that it's a scam and not legitimately from Wyndham. To ignore and delete the emails or throw away the letters. I feel very sorry for the owners who are taking such bad advice from those other owners who aren't knowledgeable.

It would be very helpful if the admins for the various Facebook groups would post the letter and tell people to contact Wyndham with the necessary information so they don't lose their PICs.

I deposited our weeks and used them as PIC for one account. The other one, the smaller Gold account, I haven't deposited those in years because the cost is too high to deposit and use as PIC.

How do you prove you are still an owner? You could always send an old deed. Are they going to follow up on that? Are they going to look at chain of title and see if it's been sold/given away? Title should be doing something to speed up closings and not worry about this. What other department would perform these tasks?

I am concerned that our Colorado resort is closing some units to sell outright, and I may lose the unit # I owned. I would think Wyndham would allow me to keep the week in PIC with a different unit # but same unit size and week#. That would not be my fault

An old deed doesn't prove you still have the week. You can forward them the email acknowledging that you paid your maintenance fees for your week or weeks at the resort for your PIC. Or you could take and send a picture of your resort account showing your unit info and that the maintenance fees have been paid for the current year.

Afaik Wyndham won't allow you to substitute a different unit number or week even at the same resort. Now whether or not they actually check close enough to see that it's a different unit number could depend on how good your luck is the day someone's looking at what you send them. Wyndham employees aren't known for.their attention to detail so it's possible you could get lucky. I just wouldn't count on it.

The Title department wouldn't be handling both PICs and closings.

That letter includes a listing of the Contract(s)# affected, when you look up the contract numbers in your account it says only

Owner(s)
names
Contract Type
PIC Plus
Points Owned
254k (3BR) or 152k (2BR) or whatever

do they have whatever it was you fed them when you bought on record?

They do have the RCI resort ID number and the resort name too. They just have to look for that info. I know this because I finally made notes for myself for next year when I deposit my weeks to get the Wyndham points. Next year the rep and I won't need to take an extra 5+ minutes figuring out which contract is for which resort.

I actually wrote out a whole page of detailed step by step instructions with all the information my husband or son could possibly need. I had my husband read it over to see if he understood what he'd need to do if something happens to me. Now I just need to get it typed up on the computer to send to our son.

I joke about my husband and son having me resurrected so they can kill me for the mess I'd leave them to deal with and no idea about any of it. I now have one thing checked off the list. Yay me!

Your PIC Program Is Getting A Boost

Coming this fall, the points or weeks you own with another vacation club can play a bigger role in your Club Wyndham story with Club Wyndham Boost and Boost+.

Welp, that came faster than I anticipated. I didn’t think we would see this announced until Q4 timeframe, like late October/November. They are pushing out some of these changes faster than in the past.

For those who didn’t already catch it, the biggest changes IMHO are any size PIC now gets 254k points - room size doesn’t matter - however - PIC Plus are now limited to a five year term - no longer are they permanent - and both a $2395 fee and a developer contract purchase are required regardless.

Got to love the really short deadline......

"Your current PIC Plus contract along with the Club Wyndham points and VIP status they support will be cancelled at any time within 5 years of the launch of Club Wyndham Boost+ unless verification is received by October 9th"

You have 25 days to get this done if you have an existing PIC. I guess they are trying to unload all of the PIC Plus owners that just used that to get VIP status, but don't use it to get points.

Can you give us a definition of "recent" as no 2027 MF bills will likely be received by Oct.

Notice said members received an email in September. Well in the last 16 days I have received emails from wyndham, but non of them of this topic.

Let the questions begin. I have 2 PIC Contracts that I regularly use. Per the FAQ's, it says that 'An email was sent to all PIC Plus contract holders in Septermber of 2026, notifying them of their PIC Plus Status.' Emphasis on was is mine.

I've seen the audit letter as was posted in this thread. Question is, has anyone received the email stating that their PIC is verified?

Just want to know if I missed an email. I've searched a variety of Wyndham addresses in all folders and no verification email has been found. Has the email actually been sent?

Limited to 5 years? Are you serious?

It is a constant revenue stream. At least it sounds like they are grandfathering in accounts, but I suppose the trick is, how to confirm you are verified.

I asked to swap properties when they were closing one of mine, I filled in the paperwork, and they did still didn't do anything until I complained when they took away my points.

I've received no such letter or email.

This just reduced my chances of ever making a retail Club Wyndham purchase from slim to none.

This is what I find the most interesting:

Enroll points or non-RCI affiliated weeks from another vacation club through Boost and earn 254,000 Club Wyndham points toward your VIP status.

So can a Worldmark owner enroll their points membership to attain status in Club Wyndham?

If so, what is the smallest CW points contract I can buy that allows me to PIC/Boost? And what is the going rate per 1k pts?

That seems like it only applies to Boost not Boost+. I see no reason to buy retail just to get five years of vip.

I suspect the volume of people buying in to get Boost+ will drop significantly.

It sounds like there's still a short window of time to make a purchase to add PIC Plus weeks but the owner would have to have those weeks already in their name. Or be very, very close to having everything completed depending on the start date of the new Boost PIC program. If they gave a start date, I missed it.

Here's how i read it. If you've deposited your weeks to get the Wyndham points in the last 5 years, you're verified and don't need to do anything. That's more generous than I would've allowed. I would've made it 2 years, maybe 3 years. If you haven't deposited your weeks, you'd better be paying attention and get what they're requesting submitted in time if you don't want to lose your PICs

With Boost and Boost+ the only way the PICs can be permanent is if you're Founders at 1.4M points. That means you don't even need your PICs for your VIP level.

A formerly 77k studio week, a 105k one bedroom week, and a 154k two bedroom week will be worth 254k points under the Boost and Boost+ PIC program. That's certainly a nice benefit. I'm guessing that the maintenance fees on a studio or a one bedroom would be $500-$600 a year. For 3 and 4 bedrooms, $1000-$1400. Potentially a savings of $500-$800 a year for 5 years is $2500-$4000.

In many cases, this new PIC program guarantees Wyndham a repeat sale in 5 years. That's if they don't manage to tick those owners off enough not to buy again because of problem ridden website and app and Wyndham's manipulation of the inventory.

That might be what they are expecting, I can't imagine that people would pay like 20 grand every 5 years to re-enroll their PIC

What's the going rate for 100k of retail points these days?

What's the going rate for 100k of retail points these days?

The bigger question is how much will it be for 100k points in 5 years, and then in 10 years?

Another question that comes to mind is if down the road will Wyndham increase the minimum number of points to enroll a PIC week. In 2023 Wyndham raised the fee to use the PIC week as Wyndham points from $89 to $165. I thought other people said that it hadn't been raised in years. In 2024 it was raised again to $226. It's no stretch of the imagination to think Wyndham could raise the minimum number of points to enroll a PIC.

I do see how this new PIC program could benefit someone who already owns some developer points and plans to reach Platinum or Founder's with being able to comfortably pay off the incremental steps to get there. It's a big jump in points between Platinum and Founders to only get 10% more of a discount. I'd find it hard to justify the additional expense. Once a person had enough points to be Platinum when the 5 years ended for the PICs, they could just enjoy Founders and the additional 508k points for 5 years then let PICs go.

We know that Discovery packages aren't a bad deal if someone wants to try out the program. A $20k purchase of 100k points with 2 Bonus+ PIC weeks gets 608k points per year if the weeks are deposited. That's $4k per year for 608k points and they get the VIP discount and free upgrade. Of course the owner pays maintenance fees but the Discovery package purchaser doesn't.

Changes and increased prices are inevitable and a part of life. There's some really long time owners from back in the very early Fairfield days who are Platinum or Founders with only $30k-$60k into it. Now I doubt that $60k would even be enough get to Silver VIP. My husband has asked me how much I think costs now to buy what we have. We try not to think about how much we spent, lol. I tell him probably easily another $100k-$140k is my guess. In another 10, 15, 20 years how much more will the VIP and PIC programs have changed and what will it cost to buy what we or others have? Those future owners will probably hear about these PIC Bonus programs and wish there was still something that good for them.
