The PIC program is not going away, though there may be a few program changes upcoming heading into next year, however if any changes are implemented, existing PIC contracts will be grandfathered, which is typically what we have seen when changes to these types of programs are made. Of course the sales weasels are going to lie about any upcoming changes since they will say just about anything to make a sale.

The 508,000 points I get for PIC (254K X 2) of two 3 bedrooms at Twin Rivers in Fraser, CO, with the very low fees we pay for those two 3 bedrooms, is how we have Founder's with 60% discount at 60 days and free upgrades in unit size. I am barely over the 1.4 million with the two X 254,000 point PICs.

The threat I'm always hearing is to make you 'reconfirm' the Timeshare you pledged for your PIC.

No, though Wyndham is ratcheting up PIC auditing to ensure that those who claim to own third party PICs attached to PIC contracts actually do own the underlying third party timeshare contracts. If owners ignore repeated attempts, via both electronic and written correspondences, to provide proof of ownership then their PIC contracts may be subject to termination.

For owners like me who routinely convert their PIC Plus contracts into actual Wyndham points annually, that in and of itself is proof of ownership, since the owner must deposit those PIC weeks into RCI and then contact Wyndham to perform the points conversion when doing so.

I own two PIC weeks, but I never convert them to Wyndham points. I always use them in their own system. I just used them to get VIPP 25 years ago.

I still own them and can prove it, but I've not been asked.

I have been seriously thinking about doing the PIC by getting a free 4BR Massanutten contract in Woodstone and looking at either something in Colorado or Williamsburg/VA Beach area.

Doing two will get me to platinum and honestly most of the way to Founders, but I want to minimize my spend. I'm not sure that extra 10% discount would be worth the extra like 20 grand or whatever it would end up costing. But going from 25% to 50% discount would be substantial and getting upgrades at 60 days vs my current 30. AND being able to wait till the last day of my use year to move points.

I'm not sure the math will ever "math out" to have this make any sort of financial sense, but i'm making so many short last minute trips anymore that i'm pretty sure there is some sort of break even on the horizon.

There are so many free or $1 contracts on the market. @Floridaman76's approach makes a lot of sense.

Sent all the info to Wyndham and a response they have the information. I will see in December on our yearly fee upgrades what changes on my maint. fee auto monthly charge will be and if they even take it off? RCI still wants me to deposit a week I haven't had for 29 years.

Wow... I didn't realize Maison Pierre Lafitte got out of the timeshare business. I owned week 26 there but sold it 10 years ago. I hope the couple who bought it from me got some use out of it.

There are no MFs for PIC contracts from Wyndham - just the Program Fee(s) on the contract points each year.

I would imagine if I was to do this, it would vary year to year. I have a huge family trip to Hawaii in 2028 i'm planning and i'm avoiding buying more resale points I may or may not need year to year. Having an approximately 250,000 or 500,000 additional retail points in some years would come in handy.

Yes there’s a conversion fee of $226 per PIC contract conversion for PIC Plus contracts. PIC Express contracts cannot be converted for points.

Have you ever rented that unit? I was looking at getting a Massanutten unit and would definitely use it occasionally. Here's the link to a thread about MPL and the transition to hotel operations. My return transactions were in 2020, not as far back as I thought. Don't know exactly when timeshare ops totally ceased.

I can only imagine what Week 26 in N.O. is like. We had a Week 21 at Quarter House. It was steamy enough!

Owners pay the program fee on the associated number of points for their PIC Plus or PIC Express weeks. You can have a max of 2 PIC weeks. Assuming the PIC would put the owner over the minimum program fee, it's $0.77 per thousand points for 2026.

Studio/77k pts pays $59.29
One bedroom/105k pts, $80.85
Two bedroom/154k pts, $118.58
Three or four bedroom/254k pts, $195.58

You must prepay the next year's maintenance fees with your resort and then have them deposit your week in RCI at least 9 months beforehand. With some resorts you can deposit your week on the RCI website, with others you have to call your resort. At some resorts the two, three, and four bedroom units can be deposited as a whole or as two separate units/side. You want to make sure to deposit the unit as a whole. Once the deposit is confirmed with RCI, you then call Wyndham. The rep will ask for the unit number and week start date. They confirm the deposit is showing in RCI, collect the current $226 PIC fee per week, and within 7-10 days, sometimes less, the points will be in your Wyndham account.

No. I haven't rented the 3 bed ski week, nor have I rented the summer week, but I do get 508,000 points, and that keeps me as Founder's.

Tbh we never actually used the pic. Just got it to go from a complete nobody to a VIP long ago.

That’s a fairly standard verification/audit letter over the past couple of years. It has nothing to do with the future of the PIC program and just serves to verify an owner still owns the timeshare that’s giving them benefits as a PIC.
