I got the email. I'm an original Diamond U.S. Collection and Club Combinations Owner.
Interesting because other Club members reported not getting it but maybe just a portion did

from the point of the service, I would guess they send it to anyone who has done enough EXCHANGES so that they can do their simpleton "pattern-matching"
"oh, they like beaches"
"Oh, they like the southeast"
"oh, they travel in summer"
"oh, they own a 2bed but always book a 1 bed"
If someone hasn't made many exchanges, how much "personalization" can they do?

Someone tell me how they think this is any different from "recommendations" amazon & netflix have been making for almost 20 yrs?
Not that it may "use AI" (oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) but in the point of it.

But, there I go, trying to be logical about corp mkting pitches. I'll never learn

Haha @WaikikiFirst , when will the stock market catch on that AI is smoke and mirrors, future bubble?

I was put off like @cd5 at first, wishing they would fix other things we have to call in for like getting a guest certificate confirmation. I decided it wasn't worth my time to gripe.

I may look into it to see how it handles my situation, a Borrower with no points this year or next, I just borrowed 2026 points to make my 2025 reservation.

are you saying guest cert confirmation when someone books for you? We can I create them, HGV send them to me and I forward to my guest but also the guest receives it.

I haven't added one yet this year, but the last few years it never comes via email. It used to come right away when added. I have a friend that regularly uses some of my points but I don't add the cert until 60 days prior when he pays for the points used. I've taken to just printing the guest info web page to PDF.

That is odd. I always get them and forward. I have done 6 this year.

when will the stock market catch on that AI is smoke and mirrors
about 2 days after the CapEx-weighted avg CEO & BoD in the USA catches on. Til then, CEOs/BoDs spend money on it. Wall St follows the money.

Well, because it isn't. What we're doing now is not actual AI, despite what we're calling it. AI, which we have yet to achieve, is far from smoke and mirrors. It just looks that way now because of the misguided hype. Machine learning, a precursor to AI, is here and does work very well.

Cheers.

I agree. I suspect however that this was very easy to implement and secondly another wonderful talking point for sales. Now, will it be of any use to me? I don't see it since I already know what I want to book and when I want to book it. How is this "feature" therefore going to help me? I decided not to even try it because I don't want any more worthless HGV emails or notifications.

In my nearly 10 years of ownership, I’ve never done an exchange, stayed at an affiliate resort, deposited my Club Combinations resort, bought extra points, and I haven’t “upgraded” to Max. It’s still a mystery on why I got the email and others didn’t.

It seems that pretty much everyone got it, regardless of activity patterns. So, I'm not sure what the mystery is here.

I was thinking that one place this could be useful is if the system could do something like "we see that you go to Hawaii and New York a lot. Did you know that we're having a sale on points to these destinations? Click here."

Here on TUG, there is always someone who notices and posts this. For non-TUGgers, this could be helpful to identify point sales on patterns.

Cheers,

I didn't receive the email but i have that box checked already in my profile.
there you go. I didn't get it, but I just looked and my box was checked too. Hard to believe I would have checked that, but I can imagine that in a moment of weakness over a year ago, I saw that box and thought "OK, show me what you got."
Now, over 1 yr later, I have received zero emails from them about that, so I guess the lack of exchanges = they don't send emails, and the new "opportunity" was given to everybody that had that box unchecked.
I unchecked my box. Seems pretty clear that someone in marketing just bought a little bit of time on an AI server and they plan to ramp up the SPAM. I can do w/o spam. In my 30+ trips to HI, I have managed to never eat spam musubi, and I aim to extend my record by another 10 - 20 trips.

AI timeshare recommendations - this is what a $3T market cap buys!
:D You likely don't know the 10th of it. A few days ago, I saw a 96 pg report from BofA-Merrill thta is titled
"AI Revolution: Stock & ETF Beneficiaries"
and then the first sentence: "We asked 130 of our fundamental equity colleagues to identify Buy-rated names in the BofA Global Research coverage universe that have exposure to the AI theme."
Then, using fine print, they list almost 1.5 pgs of stocks in the US alone. And, here you go ...
Hilton, Hyatt & Marriott are all listed. None of the TS firms are. TS CEOs must be POed, snap the whip on those marketing people who aren't convincing Wall St that theirs is a "AI STOCK".

96 pgs. Quick browse thru gave me this laugh: Texas Roadhouse is listed. I know next to nothing about TR, but seriously, the TR CEO must be thrilled. The CEO will bring this report to the next BoD meeting: "See what a great job I have done to position this company for the future"

In the near future, HGV's CEO at a Wall St conf: "We are using AI to generate more reserving and exchanging by our members. When members do more reserving and exchanging, their satisfaction increases. WHen their satisfaction increases, they upgrade or buy more weeks. Thus, we are clearly a "AI Stock", with significant tailwinds to the business from AI." Booyah! Pump that PE

I received the invitation but couldn’t determine how it would help me. I’ll continue to follow this thread to better understand.
