The US should stop minting pennies -- like Canada, NZ, Australia, etc

We should actually start printing larger bills. Today's 100 is worth about what a 10 was when I was growing up. The EU prints 200 euro and 500 euro banknotes.

In eastern Europe when they could not give change due to coin shortages, most shops would give a substitute like a small piece of candy.

Back to the subject of pennies, I listen to a lot of podcasts, and couple of them recently talked about people throwing pennies out... The host of one podcast said he always just dumps the pennies he gets as change in the shopping bag, and throws everything the trash... On another podcast a guest mentioned considered both pennies and nickels as useless.

I certainly don't throw them out, but i also hardly ever use cash anymore.
