I have read the various statements about room requests and have a quick story. about 45 days ago I exchanged an AC that I received from my Christie Lodge into BeachPlace Towers. Check-in is about two weeks from now. I called my VOA and had her request a certain floor and view for me almost immediately.

Today I called BeachPlace directly and asked again for the same thing. The lady said that they had me listed as an owner. I thought hmmm and asked, "Owner of Marriott or owner of Beachplace?" She responded, "It appears BeachPlace.", but said so reluctantly.

I told her about my recent purchase of BeachPlace but that it was not yet in Marriott's system. I suggested that maybe I was listed as an ownere because I am a Florida Club owner. She responded that she wasn't sure but acknowledged that it was possible. Could this be another hidden perk of the Florida Club?

Either way, I had her add a note stating that I am truly a BeachPlace owner by deed but just not in Marriott's systemyet, hoping to get help with my room views. She did while I was on the phone.

As per the list below (borrowed fom another Tugger), it appears that I will be higher on the pecking order in terms of room requests. This is in spite of the fact that I used a non-Marriott AC.

  • Multiple-week BP Owner stays
  • Single-week BP Owner stays
  • BP Owners, returning on an exchange
  • Marriott multiple-week owners on an exchange
  • Marriott single-week owners on an exchange
  • Rental and sales preview guests
  • Non-Marriott owners on an exchange.

Oh Oh ... you'll have to pay for parking. Now 'only' $14 a night. However, it's cheaper by the week ($80) if you DON'T use the Marriott parking section and park closer to ground level. :)
