When you book a lower level category unit at Wyndham Panama City, what floor range is considered a lower level? Also, for May bookings, what has been your experience for availability at five to six months out and does Wyndham ever offer points discounts at Panama City on a resort special?

Thanks for any help.

If I remember correctly, "Lower Level" means 9th floor and below (if I remember correctly, there are 25 floors).

We've been okay with most lower floor units except when they put you on the bottom floor. People can look right into your unit from the pool area, which I'm not crazy about. Honestly, we always went for an upper floor unit because we enjoy the views and sunsets.

If you've never been to PCB before, just know that elevators can be a problem. There is one bank of 4 elevators for the Wyndham tower. When the place is full, which is most of the time, you will spend a little time waiting on elevators, no matter the floor you're on.

Regarding May bookings, it's according to when in May you want to go and what type of unit you want. We enjoy the 2 bedroom deluxe there because of the bay window in the master bedroom as well as the extra bunks in the front entry. However, those are limited.

I would say try to book as early as possible. PCB is a popular destination. You might find unit availability, but not the unit you're looking for or you might have to piece a stay together using multiple reservations (we've had to do that a few times, too).

Blessings!

Thanks. We exchanged in through RCI in 2014 and loved the resort. My daughter likes lower floors because the children are small and high floors make her nervous.

Very nice. Then yes, you'll definitely want the lower floor option.

We used to live only 2.5 hours from this resort, so we'd make quick weekend getaways down there. Like I said, we loved it...and our kids, too. My youngest daughter (who is now 12) liked to invite friends down with us for her birthday, when given the option. They loved doing to Dave and Buster's and just enjoying Pier Park.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your trip!

Sounds great. We are going to change up our usual Disneyworld trips next year to some beach vacations instead. There may be a lot of people switching from theme park vacations to beach vacations so I guess I better book at my 10 month window. Glad I downsized my Disney Vacation Club points and upsized my Wyndham resale points.

I'd be willing to venture that a lot of people are going to be making decisions like this in the near term.

Enjoy your trip!

I stayed there over the weekend too when my husband was working in Mobile for a bit. The only thing that Mobile really had going for it was beaches/NOLA, but I really liked the PCB studio lower level option for that purpose. It's actually the first 10 floors that are lower level. Now that I'm back in Tampa, I also like using Sea Gardens for short stays in a studio because they are mostly all Ocean View. I did notice that the Ocean View north building units at Sea Gardens all have washer/dryer, but the south building units do not. That's the only peeve I had about the studios at PCB. I like to dry my swim suit between swimming.

You and me both. We sold our resale DVC (only 150 points.) I only have 50 points and still have no idea what I'm going to do with them. Nobody wants to go there before October. And there are no cruises to capture the excess of points. We did a Panama Canal cruise and almost everybody was a long time DVC owner and used points for that cruise.
