Hi, I'm looking for the best pool in Palm Springs, preferably one with a big slide. Can you recommend the best resort with the best pool? I can see all the Marriotts and Westin. Thanks.

We just got home from a trip to the Westin. They were doing major renovation to the main pool when we were there, but I think it should
be complete in a few weeks. You could call the resort and see. The smaller pool was open. Not too exciting. The main pool is very nice but doesn't compare with those mega pools that resorts are putting in now, especially in Mexico. It has a slide. We've stayed in the Marriot Palm Desert and Shadowridge several times. They have a main pool and a couple of smaller pools. The main pools are very nice but still not on the scale of many of the new Mexican resorts (if you are familiar with those). The resorts are both very nice. If you get a two bedroom at the Westin, the second bedroom (lock off) is really another smaller one bedroom. It has a small living room, kitchenette and separate small bedroom. If you trade for a 1 bedroom using your nice large one bedroom, you will be disappionted with the size. I've seen some pretty mad people at the desk saying it's not a fair trade. Interval lists BOTH of these sides as ONE bedrooms (and they are..one large and one small) The way to be sure you are getting the large one bedroom is look for the K (kitchen). The small side says LK (limited kitchen)

Thanks for your response. We stayed at the Westin a few years ago. It was nice. Can we still use the hotel pool?

Does all the Marriotts (Desert I, II, Shadow Ridge & Enclave) have slides in the pool? Pool side food & drink service? Thanks.

I don't know about Desert Springs' pools, but at Shadow Ridge the main pool has a water slide and pool side food and drink service. The Enclaves pool does not have a slide, but it does have pool side food and drink service. Daily service for food and drink may be limited depending on the time of year you visit, but if you visit at a popular time, I'm sure the snack bars will be open daily.

Cheers!

I'm not sure where the "hotel" pool is, but the one I called the main pool is right next to the building where the timeshares check in and, yes. you can use that one. It's the one they were working on but supposed to be finished in only a few weeks. Maybe the RAIN stopped work?? Major storm here in Calif right now. I don't know if they are getting it in the desert or not but I think it's reaching all the way over there. We NEED the rain badly but would just as soon skip the major flooding, power outages and mud slided.
Oh well, I'll quit whinning and be grateful that we're finally getting some much needed rain here in Calif.! And I'm very grateful that we were down in the desert and Newport Beach the LAST 2 weeks instead of this week. We had great weather both weeks! Weren't we lucky?
