Paia is an interesting little town (about 2 blocks). But dont expect much. Not much of a destination but worth a stop if on your way to Halelikala....or a bite to eat.

I love some of the little shops. We've made it a destination, but maybe we're just strange. What we often do is spend the morning at the beach, then go off for an afternoon outing. The gelato in Paia made for a great afternoon treat.
I've been there before, and I do remember the gelato place, but I prefer regular ice cream and wondered if maybe I missed somewhere that had it. We are gonna stop in town after our bike down Haleakala. We'll also probably get lunch or dinner there sometime, maybe the Sunday we fly out -- loved the Fish Market restaurant!
