just got this email from oyster.com and it looks like they are not going to post anymore reviews on there website. When deciding on place to go I would sometimes use their resources. sad to see them go.

Dear Oyster Readers,

For over a decade, Oyster has been dedicated to making sure that every traveler can find the dream vacation that’s right for them. We’ve personally visited over 45,000 hotels in every corner of the world to make sure you get exactly what you’re expecting — and we’ve loved every second of it.

Unfortunately, the world now is a very different place than it was just a few months ago, and our editorial team will be moving on. Thank you for being a loyal reader — without you, this amazing work we’ve done wouldn’t have been possible. You will still be able to find all our past stories you have loved over the years on Oyster.com.

Every Oyster editor and photographer is a traveler. And as travelers, we—like you—will keep exploring the world once it’s safe again. We’ll also continue to share the places and moments that inspire us on our social media channels. If you’d like to connect with us, follow Megan Wood on Twitter (@m_louisewood), while on Instagram you’ll find Lara Grant (@lara_grant), Laura Hinely (@nomadlaura) and me (@k.a.vale).

We look forward to seeing you out there again someday.

Sincerely,

Kyle Valenta

Very disappointing. I think they were best known for the large number of photos that they took at each hotel.

They were awesome but I think they were acquired by Tripadvisor and their photos show up on Tripadvisor tagged as professional photos. It would be nice for TA to continue getting a complete set of property photos along with each room type.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like they laid off most of their staff. This is only the beginning, folks. Shutting down the world's largest economy for 2+ months (so far) has far-reaching consequences. :(
