Howdy, as background we bought into the Westin Vacation Club (Vistana) about a decade ago, bought a second interest in Aventuras (Mexico) all prior to the MVC merger. Whatever we own has us at the executive level. Ownership update today in Orlando. Very unclear what the actual offer was, but they continued to refer to it as offering me "Marriott Full Access". Ultimately what I think they were trying to do is get me to liquidate my shares of the Aventuras and Westin Flex Trusts, and put that equity (and more, of course) into the MVC system. The price today quoted was $0.82 per point, but the discount offered today was $0.43 per point.
The benefit to me was sold as "ability to rent" which is silly because I can do that now just not through Marriott, The other benefit to me was the ability to use points to buy gift cards (which I can already do), and use points to buy other vacation products - cruises, etc. Ultimately I said no - then I said no to the 2nd offer, and then they finally asked "what would you be willing to pay monthly" and when I said "nothing more" they let me go. Then I had to tell the closer, politilely, twice, that we would be declining his offer to buy a discounted week in Orlando. I guess the only confusion I have is why the call it "Marriott Full Access" when I supposedly have access to the same things that an original MVC owner does. Anyway - FYI.
