Location
Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Am at Governor's Green. When you pick up the parking pass the Guest Services table is manned and gives you the Invatation to attend the owners update It is an impressive written invitation that is initialed and everything). It is now called the "Count on Me" program. The Desk personnel and Guest Services staff are excellent at this location. Not so much the Count on Me staff. One of the items that was used to get you to them was the promise that they would give a paper copy of the member's directory and what was described as the Fall Updates to the Member's Directory that went into effect last Monday. The invatation stated, "In exchange for your feedback, we are pleased to offer you a $75.00 AMEX Card, or Discounted Tickets to Coloinial Williamsburg or Bush Gardens. After meeting with the staff, they advise they do not give gifts. I indicated that I did not need the gifts but would like the members directory and the Fall Updates to the members directory. Of course, you guessed it, a new purchase goes along with that. Anyone hear of the Fall Updates to the Member's directory? What are these?

P.S. Do not forget to eat lunch before you go. The promised lunch is not real either.

Update:

All I could get on the above referenced document so far was the cover page. It is titled "Club Wyndham Update Fall 2011"

Update:

Wyndham Marketing at Govenor's Green followed up and has taken the position (not withstanding the fact I do have a copy of the cover page described above) that the document does not exist and the Club Wyndham Update Fall 2011 does not exist.

This has been posted elsewhere. The resorts don't make money on Maintenance Fees (it pays the bills), they make money on people buying points from the resort. That's also how the salesmen make their commissions.
It sounds like someone at the resort wanted to get you in the door, so they went out on their own to make up perks for it, which they couldn't do.
The best advice anyone here would tell you: do NOT go to any "update". All they want to do is to get you to buy another contract. You might want to e-mail Wyndham (Contact Us), or call them, to let them know what happened. I wouldn't call it illegal or unethical, just a little "fishy".

Yep. They freely admit that is the reason they are just showing the cover page and not the whole book. They said if they did that then no one would go over to get one from the Count on Us Staff. If anyone was given one, can they share the main points?

Congratulations! You have now found even more lies from the sales staff at Wyndham. They promised gifts in writing and then told you (after you ere in their office) there were none? That is so tacky.

I have encountered the "Count on me personal representative" sell at Panama City this past year. So good to know that good stuff is spreading around.

In that case (not withstanding the fact that you actually met with them personally) I would take the position that Wyndham weasels do not exist.

I dont think that there have been any changes to the policies and procedures that would require an up date to the owners directory, but there may be some new resorts

of course you can read about them on line
