I'm having problems with my Outlook Express. When I 'send' a message it goes to the outbox and appears to be sending it, but it remains in the outbox and a window comes up to say 'errors ... see list below' ... but there's no list.

When I send another email it does the same thing, only sending the first one again as well as the second one....then another error message.

When I send a third email it does it again ... this time sending the first 2 messages as well.

It turns out that all the emails are going and being received...even the ones that are repeated again and again.

I've run a full McAfee scan without it finding anything. But something is really wrong with Outlook Express ... help? I have 9 emails in the outbox and some of those people have had many repeats.

Sounds like you file is damaged - try this (move any messages you still want to the "draft" folder first):

Outlook Express stores the contents of each folder (e.g, Inbox, Outbox) in a separate file. To work around this problem, you need to delete the file that is associated with the Outlook Express Outbox. Perform the following steps:
  1. Close Outlook Express.
  2. Start Windows Explorer (Start, Run, Explorer or Win+E).
  3. Go to your profile area (e.g., C:\Documents and Settings\savillj\).
  4. Within your profile, go to the folder Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{[very long number]}\Microsoft\Outlook Express.
  5. Find file Outbox.dbx and delete it.
  6. Start Outlook Express (msimn.exe).
  7. The system will create a new Outbox.dbx, and the Outbox will be empty.

call them

I have had a couple problems and called them and everything was easily fixed. Of course this was before we had outsourced customer service and now inmost cases everything would need repeated several times.
