We are taking a family vacation with my siblings and parents, so we have a request in with RCI for exchange. We have been offered all three HGVC properties, but the one in five rule won't allow us to get three villas at any one property. We'd like to stay on the Lake Buena Vista side. Vistana has available units for our dates, but I'm a little concerned that we may not end up in the same area.

My son has significant physical disabilites, therefore accessibility is an issue for us.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand the 1 in 5 rule does not apply to concurent or consequtive weeks.

Never been to Fountains. Just came back from our first stay at Vistana and it was definately not for us. It was like a huge apartment complex with various sections. You even needed to go out the one secutity gate to get another section where some of the quick servce meals and activities were.

Sheraton Vistana Villages or Sheraton Vistana Resort? Have you looked at the TUG ratings and reviews? Click on TUG Resort Databases in the red bar - top of page.

Vistana has stairs in many of the buildings. I believe that if you need a first floor unit you will need to book a 2 bedroom sleeps 8. I'd call the resort to make sure. I've never had a problem having them assign me a first floor unit but if you're going when it's sold out then it might be an issue though so I'd make sure if I were you.

Haven't stayed at BG yet so don't have any advice for you on that. :)

They are both nice. Been to each a couple of times and worked to accommodate placement. Sheraton stayed 4 weeks in a row and kept us in same room

Sheraton has more pools but the fountains has one large pool and an indoor one

Can't go wrong with either

Actually, all 1BR units at SVR are in buildings with elevators. The majority of sections at Vistana Resort have only 2BR units, but they all have 1/2-1/3 of the units at ground level with no stairs required. Like all resorts, SVR is very aware of American with Disabilities Act responsibilities. They will accomodate you however you need.
