The exchange system for ORE weeks just opened today. The system is the same as in the past, other than it is now called "VRI*ety".

It looks like all the really good stuff has been booked up during annual scheduling; there isn't much high-demand stuff left. There were no red Park City ski weeks and I didn't see any weeks that ORE considers blue but that other exchanges consider red. There were no Hawaii weeks or SoCal coast weeks for any time of year.

Well, that's discouraging. So, I guess I'll put in a "long term" (that is, ongoing) request. Anyone have any exeprience with those?

Did you see any of the VRI resorts listed for exchange options?
No. It looked like the usual ORE resorts only. I own at a VRI resort and have heard that VRI owners will have to vote on whether to be part of the VRI*ety exchange or not. That will probably take a long time. The idea hasn't even been presented to owners at my VRI resort yet.

Study the impact first

I would recommend a complete evaluation of impact prior to getting excited about your property to join the annual scheduling fray.

Any scheduling priority you have into your property is largely gone when your property goes into annual scheduling. If your property is included, you the owner, must enter annual scheduling to exercise your priority. Following the scheduling process you must then enter the phone jam for what is left after the thousands of annual scheduling request have already been processed to take any desirable left overs. To book a specific unit at your resort is a race for everyone not just owners at your resort.

I was on the phone for almost two hours on June 11. Not happy.

Just got an exchange to ORE St. Georges in Utah...

I finally got thru and they told me since I wanted to give it to RCI, that I should take a prebanked week , since it would pull much better than anything I could get (even a Holiday) . I think it's Fishermans Village in Punta Gorda Fla, the week b4 Thanksgiving and it doesn't pull worth sh--!! I will probably call them back and complain. shaggy
