I called II before I opened my account there and asked if it would be possible to add more weeks to the account later at no cost or if I should wait until all the weeks I bought have been transferred.

The answer was "No problem, we can add the additional weeks at no additional fee later". Of course I have nothing in writing.

I opened the II account (3 years prepaid as it was the cheapest option) with the first week that closed.

Later I wanted to add two other weeks and was told that this costs € 41 per week with II Europe. Or I could add three weeks it I purchased three more years of membership. She was sorry that the other rep has given me wrong information "You know, there are some new people here who do not know everything".

As I am in the process of purchasing/closing several weeks (10 or so, Hi, my name is abdibile and I am timeshare addicted) I would want to add to the II account, would this strategy work:

I wait until all transactions have closed and open another II account while adding all the weeks right in the beginning.

Then I cancel the firs II account I have (after the getaway I booked through that account has passed) and add the only week I have in this first account to the second account for a year II extension.

Would they let me open the second account or will there be any problems with this strategy?

Thanks for the input!

Seems like an II policy question. Accordingly, any answer you get here may or may not be correct and /or reflect or influence what II ultimately does...

You should call II and discuss your options.

I recall being told that I could add additional units to my account for the one year membership fee, then cancel that additional year and receive a refund.

In other words, extend your membership and pay the additional fee, in order to add the units to your account. Once everything is complete, II will refund your $$ for the additional year. I think II suggested this to me once when I was adding another unit.

Thanks!

The rep told me that I can only add one week per year I extend the membership.

She told me it was no money at risk as I could cancel the membership antime I want. But that sounded to me like cancelling the whole membership, not only canceling the additional year (2011 or whatever).

I do not really feel comfortable paying upfront until 2021 or something...

I added five weeks all at once, with one year's extension.

Having a second account with II seems redundant. ;) Actually, all joking aside, a second account costs you double in annual fees. I wouldn't do it. With RCI, I absolutely would have a second account.

I would only pay for two accounts until October, then I would cancel the first account (after the getaway I booked through the first account has passed)

Why would you absolutely have a second account with RCI? Would you not have to pay 2 membership fees there too?

I have 2 RCI Weeks accounts - one as part of my Wyndham points system and the other part of the RCI Points system.

Weeks paid for by my Wyndham ownership doesn't allow for a points account. RCI Points account has a attached RCI Weeks account.

No choice, about having the 2 RCI Weeks accounts.

I haven't joined II yet, but I own an II week.
