Are ongoing requests in II filled by the computer or a live human? In other words, might I get a match over the weekend, or will it always happen during business hours?

Both and neither!
Often times they happen overnight or in the early morning by computer...
The II system for filling ongoing requests is very flawed so you may see something sitting in general inventory when searching that matches your request exactly, but did not match...good luck!

II requests filled by phone

Hi Anita!
I was told by II that they will notify me by telephone. In fact, I am waiting to hear from them on several exchange requests for week 10 2012. Fingers crossed!

RCI is just as bad.

RCI is the same. The last few exchanges I have confirmed were for units I found sitting online, even though I had a search for the exact same criteria.

This may be a dumb question for you experienced II traders, but I've never placed an ongoing request before, and I'm really confused.

I just placed an ongoing request (using a Marriott Marbella 2BR deposit) for next year. At least I *think* I placed an ongoing request? A message popped up saying something like "nothing is available at the moment, but we will keep searching." Can I view/change my request on the II website? After much searching through my II account in vain, I can't even find my request. Can somebody please tell me where I can find it? Does II send out an email to confirm your request?

II does not send an email confirming the request. Log onto II and select "My units." You should see the Marbella unit listed with the Marriott Marbella reservation number below and an option toward the right to view/change the pending request.

Did you pay an exchange fee? If not, you did not put in a request.

Thank you. I've been online and on the phone with Interval all morning. :wall: Since one of my resorts was bought out by Diamond International this year, Interval flagged my account so I couldn't set up an ongoing search without going through Diamond. It took five different calls to figure out that was the problem and get it all straightened out!!!! The Diamond rep said they have nothing to do with my Marriott deposit, and couldn't explain what was going on. Talk about frustrating...but I was finally able to get my search set up.

For my last request, I didn't get notified by telephone or email. The only way I found out was by checking "my units" daily. When I checked one day, it showed my exchange had gone through. Possibly, I was on a list to be notified. I called II and requested a confirmation be emailed which I received in less than two minutes. I got just what I requested so no complaints. I do recommend checking "my units" daily once you get within 13 months of your travel date.

Thanks for the heads up on watching for a match. This is all new to me, so your advice is appreciated.

I got an email on Sunday from II with a PDF file of the confirmation for our exchange. It comes as Customer Service, so you may want to check your spam if II has your email. They have never called us, just emailed.

In addition to "My Units" it also shows up in "My History".

After reading Former Cruiser's reply, it reminded me that when I checked "My Units" my week no longer appeared as available for an exchange. I then had to go to "My History" to see what I received for an exchange.
