Glad you found what you wanted. We have gone out of Shelter Cove. The kids rented boats to do tubing and such with Outside HH last year but that is probably not good until water gets warmer.

Dear Quilter: Re Boat Suggestion. I believe when occupying an ocean going vessel that keeping the mast above the water line is the preferred position. I hope you are having a great time in HHI and look forward to seeing you in Michigan.

We are taking our dog to Holland Michigan this weekend because Tulip Bloom is three weeks ahead of Tulip Time. The fine for picking a Tulip in Holland is $50 and they estimate over 5 million tulips blooming. Lets see $50 * 5 million and my lottery winnings are just about gone, before taxes.:cheer:

If this boat ride turns out to be a good deal I'll post a note. It sounds good from the calls I've had with the captain.

Our boat ride from Bluffton to Palmetto Bluff was a real treat. Capt. Chris picked us up right on time. His boat is nice and new and easy to ride. Because it was really low tide he asked if we wanted a bit of a tour before heading to the restaurant so he could show us a local sandbar. The Redneck Riviera. http://blufftonbreeze.com/200708/BlufftonEnvironmental.html

There was a sad part when we saw something in the water that looked like a dolphin fin but it didn't roll like normal. We approached slowly and when we were closer we could see it was a mom holding up a dead baby. Chris said he had only seen 1 other dead dolphin in his life and wasn't sure whether to help or just leave it be. He backed away slowly and quietly not wanting to disturb her and after dropping us at our dock he called the DNR. They said it was a normal process of grieving and to just let her be. He also told us since he takes people on dolphin tours and fishing in the area the dolphins know his boat so he wanted to be careful not to do anything that would upset them.

We had our lunch at Buffalo's and it was good as usual. Our friends wanted to walk around the community so I called Chris to see how long we could have before he needed to pick us up. He gave us another hour and then he would need to get us back and pick up his next customers. An added bonus to the trip was a couple artists demonstrating and displaying their work in the gallery: http://www.blufftontoday.com/blufft...arts-commission-hold-public-show#.T4qvRd0hAc8

I definitely plan to repeat this when we come back to Hilton Head.

Thanks for the head's up, Quilter. We've spent many years on HHI, and I had not heard of this particular trip...very cool to add something "new" to do to the list after all of these years.

We had purchased a Groupon for a Vagabound cruise that we had hoped to use when we were there in February. Apparently, they were only doing cruises during limited days, and wouldn't be going out when we were there (Fri-Tues.) However, we left two with my mom and my aunt for them to try to use when they'd be doing a cruise that Thursday. So, they head out there, only to discover that the boat is broken!:wall: They promised that they would honor the full Groupon forever because of this; of course, they also promised to e-mail me something to that effect (my mom called my cell from the dock) and they didn't. I do have the two printed Groupons that the guy initialed....I'm hoping that they'll honor all five. We might head down for a quick weekend in the next few months, just to be able to redeem this.
