Does anyone know on a resale purchase if you have to wait until 6 months to book your week instead of 12 months out? My friend just got back from Ko Olina and they went on the tour and was told that by the rep. I had read somewhere before that they might do this, but is this true or was he just trying to pressure them into buying a 2nd week direct from Marriott.

Thanks!

That's not true (at least not yet and maybe never).

I bought a resale at ShadowRidge in March of this year and was able to reserve my 2009 week with no problem. It was less than a year because of closing, but it was more than 6 months.

Thanks! I was actually considering a resale at Shadow Ridge. I didn't think it was true.

If you're considering ShadowRidge, there have been lots of bargains on Ebay for ShadowRidge and the other Palm Desert Properties. I think the ROFR at ShadowRidge is currently at least $1500 lower than when mine passed in March.

Thanks! I've been looking at that one, DSVII and Canyon Villas.

One week Marriott owners can reserve 12 months fom the first check in day of the week that they want. So if the resort has a friday, Sat and Sunday check in you can reserve your Sunday check in 12 months prior to the Friday date. Two week or more owners can reserve 13 months in advance but they must reserve both of their weeks at the same time and if they own in two different seasons the weeks must "touch" each other.
