"On a more positive note, we are happy to report that we have been successful in implementing several strategies for effecting energy utilization reductions. This, coupled with your efforts to conserve energy usage while vacationing at our resort and a 2009 reduction in energy rates, has resulted in a significant cost savings to the Association of approximately $1,772,634."

$1,772,634 savings is for WKORV. $1,347,055 savings for WKORV-N (per LisaRex's post).

This was also included in the email about Maui taxes increases. This should help offset the tax increase.

How will it offset the tax increase? Are you saying you expect a smaller than usual increase in the MF's because of this? I hope you are right, but I will be astonished if the increase is less than last year.

2010 expenses = 2009 expenses + A + B - C

A = historical expense (incl reserves, etc) increase
B = $4.1M property tax increase
C = $1.7M energy savings
