We just acquired 15000 annual points from the resale market after coming very close to spending 18k for 15000 bi-annual points from the developer. I stumbled on to TUGGBS today and after realizing how little I knew am wondering if 15k annual points is enough, the DDW and I usually make a couple of random weeklong trips a year, and we usually make one 4 or so day trip with our daughter. I am still waiting on all of the closing documents but know ahead of time I will have to set up a RCI account to trade for time at Virginia Beach, my sister-in-law lives in that area so it is usually a mid-fall trip for us.

You bought points but do not know what those points will get you?

Yes that is apparently what he/she just said and is asking for help understanding the acquisition and for advice about that - in case that is not clear to you.

Glinako welcome to TUG and I am sure there are others who can help you sort this out. You are not the first by far that found TUG soon enough to wonder if they made a wise choice, and where to go from here.

I don't know what they paid for those points, maybe next to nothing. They posted yesterday about acquiring 18K BG points. They may not have completed the sale.

Still shocking that someone would buy something not knowing its utility. It is akin to buying a vehicle but not knowing if you can drive it on the street, how far and fast it will go. Maybe others that find TUG will be better informed thinking about that.

Has the seller been notified that BG has passed on ROFR?
That they are not buying them back?

If you do in fact now own these points, the membership comes with an RCI account.
Within a few weeks of getting online BG access you will be able to access the RCi portal from that site.

You are also able to book bonus time as a resale owner at your home resort.
Where are you points/priority use period "deeded" (no deed but home resort) ?

The best place to start is the BlueGreen vacation points guide:

At a guess 15,000 should be more than enough for a full week in a studio/1BR plus 4-nights in a 2BR, but point costs are extremely variable across the Bluegreen collection. Squeezing in a 3rd trip might require shopping the RCI Last Call clearance section for cash travel to get a full week. You may need more points for your planned travels, but I would suggest trying to book a year or two with your new points to learn the system and make sure Bluegreen meets or exceeds expectations before going off to purchase more points.

Yes the seller has notified BG and they are not buying them back. No deed but the home resort is Cibola Vista.

Thank you StarSailer, I'll definitely take your advise.

Then you will be able to book bonus time at Cibola at 45 days out online - I no longer own so don't know the current rates but likely under $100 per night - a great way to stretch points.
If you decide in the future to buy more points, target a resort where you would like to go using bonus time.

To be fair I bought into HGVC based on spending some time researching the program here. It sounded like a good deal but I really didn't have any clue on availability. You can't search for that until you buy into the program. I have been very happy with availability as I like going mid week in the offseason so that helps.
