@cliffaith you could've simply deposited a negative review on the driver's profile. That would've had a more lasting effect on him than stiffing him on the tip.

OTOH, some people just close (car) doors harder than necessary. My grandson, when he gets into my Tundra slams the door. I've mentioned that it just isn't necessary. The doors are heavy, but they close easily and securely- but he slams them every time like it's some kind of jalopy with doors that don't fit.

My wife's car, if you try to close the rear hatch with a key fob inside (like in a pocket or inside a bag) won't latch. It keeps popping open. I slammed it down a few times until I knew it was just keeping me from locking my key inside. (dope-slap here)
Didn’t stiff him — gave him 15% instead of the 25% I gave my afternoon driver.

As someone who has had a car whose hinges wore out, I don’t like slamming car doors. I drive Buicks, they do not need rough handling for closing and are lightweight compared to any pickup truck door. My pickup did need more force but not all the strength i have.

I do ask people to not slam the doors, I recall all too well a door coming off in my hands years ago. That was a 2 door Regal, big heavy door. Have not ever had a 2 door again.

I do understand some friends drive bigger vehicles requiring more force for door closure but I simply request kindly and they remember this isn’t their car door. I would not yell or condescend, just, hey, can you please not slam the door?

If I were using a vehicle for carting around strangers, I wouldn’t be doing it in a car I cared a lot about. Not my precious Buick. And I wouldn’t be making a big production of correcting a paying customer, I’d just deal with it.

...... don't like the way i close your car door? close it yourself.

option B I slam the heck out of it on the way out.
LOVE option B :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
So it counted ME as a whopping 30 seconds late and charged me an extra 10 cents!
And THAT would've been the better part of his tip!!!

Seriously, if he cares that much about his car, he can play true chauffer and open and close doors for his fares!!! (Although if he did that, he'd have nothing to complain about!)

And seriously, he took the time to get out and show you the proper way to shut the door - but he didn't get the door for you in the first place! Jerk!
Uber drivers get the door!! Has hall frozen over? They practically want to make rolling stops. My experience was always when I was sick, I couldn’t move fast enough for Them.
Then the one that reported me For not being there. I was standing in front of the entrance and she drove around the back of building and called in that I was not Outside.

My scary Paris ride called us in as a no show -- and he had parked in the alley on the side of our airbnb instead of on the street. Then said he couldn't reinstate our ride but we could pay him cash. We got charged for a no show (Uber reimbursed).

Driver's behavior is uncalled for. I cannot image @clifffaith slammed very hard.

FYI...Drivers rate passengers too.

I've never had such trouble with Uber - haven't tried Lyft much yet but plan to next time I'm in a city and don't have my own car I guess.
