So what it boils down to, is that if you go the bargain hunter route and buy two properties to add to 148k options, you give up a shot at a guaranteed combined two bedroom and may sacrafice location. That looks like about a 10k tradeoff.
Exactly - if you want to be guaranteed the opportunity to exchange into a 2 bdm. requiring 148K Staroptions, you need to buy them as one purchase. If you take your time and shop around, I think you can find a good deal. In this economy, I think we will see a lot of bargains in 2008.
Also remember, that if you exchange into the WKORV, you are likely to get a Highway View or a distant view of the ocean over a parking lot. Approximately 1/3 of the units at WKORV have one of those views and I would say that another 10 - 20% of the units labeled "ocean view," are equally as bad, because they are on the first floor.
