OceanWatch Myrtle beach ocean-side or ocean- view

I don’t believe OceanWatch has a private beach in that there are barriers to keep the general public out of the area.
I’m trying to think of where public parking is and also if the hotel has any barriers.
I know I walked a long stretch up and down the beach.
But I’m also not sure why someone would come sit in front of OceanWatch if they are not staying there.
Even with just OceanWatch guests the beach could get crowded during peak times.
As dioxide said Myrtle beach is a popular destination.
I do think the northern location of Ocean Watch is least crowded than further south.

I’m trying to think of MVCs that have private beaches- that would be a good list to make.

All beachfront land below mean high water in South Carolina is considered public land. Resorts may have private sections but, the general public still has access to the beach below the high tide line. So, basically no private beaches in SC at all.

Ocean side is in the side of buildings Conch and Scallop closer to the ocean. Ocean View is the higher floors of Maple and Pine set back from the ocean in the Woodsy section. Here is a diagram from @jwalk03View attachment 110368

You can request anything, nothing is guaranteed. However, if you are booked or confirmed into ocean view or garden view, you will likely be in Maple or Pine in the back of the resort.

I see that you own at SBP. If you have young/school age children at home or if you or your spouse is a teacher, I assume that you would want to purchase a resale platinum season week at OceanWatch since that season is the summer weeks when schools are out. However, if children/teacher is not the case, you may want to consider purchasing a gold season week at OceanWatch instead due to the less sultry weather and less crowds. Also recall that the plantation phase at SBP does not have a platinum season. Instead, SBP plantation-phase has a gold-plus season which approximates the OceanWatch platinum & gold seasons combined together. Remember that you can only book a week in the season that you own.

OceanWatch seasons
Platinum Plus: the week that contains July 4th (week 26 or week 27)
Platinum: weeks 20-25 & 27-32
Gold: weeks 9-19 & 33-36
Silver: weeks 5-8 & 37-48
Bronze: weeks 1-4 & 49-52
