We planned a two day weekend stay months ago and paid using the 6VC code. I checked the rates last week and they had gone down dramatically and Marriott reservations adjusted. Amazingly, our rate was only $114!!!! During our stay, my college son's spring break was extended and my high schooler found out all classes have been called off for the next two weeks. We logged into Interval and were blessed. We were FINALLY able to use one of the many Bonus Weeks we had on file. We grabbed an Ocean Watch check in for today-- seven nights for $299!!!!!! Our two day stay is turning into nine.
The front desk says they're full. Yes, there were cancellations, but those empty spaces have been snapped up. Some renovations are still going on in the Scallop building (appears to be two or three floors are closed for renovations). We are in Pine which just finished renovations. I'm a fan. Very tasteful in my opinion. New carpet, appliances, sofa, chairs and bench have been recovered and new curtains. Carpet is blue with splotches of white and green -- replaces the lighter carpet and makes the room look more plush. Lamps, bedding and art are the same. BTW, a few activities have been called off because of the coronavirus-- basically activities involving food (Welcome Hot Chocolate, Brat night, wine tasting).

pictures are attached.

Yeah, when you can use those (we use them a lot), pretty hard to beat $299 for 7 nights even in a cheapo hotel. Congrats! Looks nice, I like that carpet.

Treehouse, hot tubs, sauna, steam rooms and kids splash area in Woodsy pool now closed.
(and by the way, a crane moved heavy equipment (AC units?) off of the roof this morning.)

Interesting hallway photo with a non-carpet walk path...which I assume may be for those who are wet from a swimsuit?

Can they really prevent deeded residents from occupying without a broad evacuation order?

As of today, OceanWatch is still reporting open to owners and II exchanges. https://hub.vacationclub.com/resort-updates/. I have to agree with the poster immediately above regarding owner reservations being occupied by the owner. I don't believe this order can legally apply to an owner using either an owned week or even a DC points reservation unless there is a formal evacuation order. This would effectively deny an owner the right to use their own property (as opposed to excluding just renters).

I called the resort and they confirmed that while all property amenities will be officially closed, as well as the Town of Myrtle Beach (based on the most recent declaration), Marriott owners are still allowed to check-in and cannot be turned away from using either their week or DC points reservations. (However, they really hope no one comes.)

Wow! It’s not looking good for our late May resy. Thanks for the update Swice

According to new model projections today that my wife shared with me (the consulting firm she works for is helping hospitals plan for the patient surge), South Carolina COVID19 cases are not expected to peak until late May at the earliest and will continue through at least mid-July. I looked at the cases and death projections and they are very sobering for the entire country.

The projections have changed somewhat since late March when I posted that. Most areas have gotten better, but the SC numbers have not improved much at all. SC has not been as aggressive as other states in forcing business closures - although virtually all non-essential retail is closed - so the modeling has not been kind to SC. The SC governor has tried to walk a tightrope between the more all-encompassing lockdown used in other states and a more targeted approach that targets the businesses where he and his health experts think he can get the most spread suppression while mitigating the economic damage. The models clearly do not embrace that approach, so only time will tell whether the models are right and anything short of total shutdown will result in more death, or if the governor's approach works and maximizes the suppression while mitigating the economic damage somewhat.

Either way, it appears SC is going to dealing with this until at least June if the models are correct. Here is a link to today's run of the most widely quoted model. You can check other states and countries using the pull down menu at the top.
