Going to Ocean Pointe and looking for recommendations for places to dine. We are 2 adults, love seafood and italian food. Like to eat breakfast out as well. Any reasonable golf courses close to resort ?

Cathy's Connection in Juno Beach is great breakfast or lunch spot. Good fish at Bonefish

This is from my review done from our visit in April 2011. No idea if the quality of the restaurants has changed.

We ate most breakfasts in the unit (got wonderful bagels from Brooklyn Bagel on Northlake Avenue. Here are the restaurants we ate at (all are for three people, without drinks unless otherwise indicated, excluding tip):

Sailfish Marina for buffet breakfast. $16.95 per person, which includes coffee, tea, or soft drinks. Pretty decent, with eggs & omelets cooked to order, bacon, outstanding waffles, bagels and rolls and toast etc. I would recommend it for a day you want to skip lunch. I believe this is only offered on Saturday and Sunday.

Johnny Longboats for breakfast. Good food and reasonable prices. Cost was $36. Good variety but a bit misleading as it showed a build your own omelet for $7.95 but the cost was higher depending on the number of ingredients.

Islander Grill & Tiki Bar. Dinnner for two for their Saturday night steak and lobster special, with one drink cost $66 (inclusive of their added 18% tip). The food and service were good but this is advertised as a 7 ounce steak and 7 ounce lobster tail. In reality they were about 4-5 ounces each, so the value wasn’t there.

Buongiorno Pizza & Pasta (Palm Beach Gardens). Dinner for three (all entrees) was $60, but we had a $25 restaurant.com certificate. The food was excellent, very big portions and very good. Highly recommended.
Captain Charlies Reef Grill (Juno Beach). I had vaguely remembered a Reef Grill from our last visit eight years ago so we gave this a shot. It was the same place with the same excellent food and service. Dinner cost $99 and was well worth it. Definitely recommended.

Ginza Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar (Palm Beach Gardens – I think). Dinner for three, including tip was $96, after applying a $50 restaurant.com certificate. This was just ok food at too high prices. Definitely not worth it and can’t recommend.

Duffy’s Sports Grill (North Palm Beach). Dinner was $65. This is a real nice sports bar and a good place to just relax, have a beer or two and eat basic food. It’s a lot like a lot of sports bars but it’s nice to get back to the basics when on vacation. Recommend it for what it is.

Carmine’s La Trattoria (Palm Beach Gardens). Wonderful setting; get there before 6:30 to get a table outside. Very good food and reasonable prices. My daughter had a NY strip steak that was outstanding, especially for $25, inclusive of salad and potato. Total cost was $85 for two steak and one seafood dish. The only negative was our server was not very good but I would overlook that one time. Very highly recommend.

For golf, I have played the President Patriot Course, which is decent----the Eagle course is supposed to be better.

The West Palm Par 3 Course (18 holes) is a nice play, if that interests you.

We like Sailfish Marina (short walk from OP along Tacoma drive). We also like Carmines, about a 10 minute drive just north of OP...maybe more b/c of the restricted speed llimits along there. But if the bridge is up it takes longer.
Friends of ours like Johnny Longboats but we don't b/c it is very noisy, always crowded, the tables are very close together and the food is so so.

The PGA @ Palm Beach Gardens, where The Honda Classic was recently held, is very close.

We liked Sailfish the first time we went, but then we had poor food and absolutely horrible service 4 times in a row. Keep in mind we are foodies and our bar is high. Eggs, meat, and especially fish should not be over cooked. When the food is worse than a chain restaurant but with specialty prices it is a recipe not to return. To each their own but we don't go back. We make the walk for the marina. We feed the fish. But we pass on the restaurant.

Go over Riviera Bridge to US 1 and drive north...

Entre Nous for price fixed dinners...on US1. Locals lve it.

Not far from there is PA (Park Avenue) BBQ on US 1. Best ever ribs.

Try Nonna Maria's in North Palm Beach for dinner. It is an excellent, homey neighborhood italian (with a French twist) that is not a tourist spot. I did a review of it on Yelp, last time we were there and loved it! Definitely worth the short trip from Ocean Pointe!
For breakfast or lunch, try any local TooJay's deli. They are all over So. Florida and they are very good. Closest one is at Palm Beach Gardens. We're from the NYC area and have lots of good delis and this place holds it own very well! The best chopped liver we've ever had and great bagels and lox, etc. Haven't eaten dinner there, but lots of the favorites including chicken soup, stuffed cabbage, etc.

One other recommendation for breakfast/ brunch if you want to travel a bit to Palm Beach area (actually in Manalapan) is John G's restaurant (right across from the Ritz Carlton in a shopping mall). Its a very popular local institution with awesome breakfast items and is definitely worth the trip. Expect to wait on weekends or get there early. You will love it!
