I just posted a question on another thread asking for pictures and/or a description of the new kids splash park Ocean Pointe installed. I have not received a response, so I did a quick google search and I found this page:

Is Ocean Pointe getting a pool slide? I figured the owners would know. Does the splash park include a pirate ship slide like in these illustrations? Looks fantastic, but I cannot find any real pictures of the place and no one seems to ever mention the splash park.

I don't know whether to be exicted about this potential news or cry. Ocean Pointe is already the most expensive resort we own and, while I love the amenities, I'm not sure how much more I can afford. Every time they toss something new in, it's always it's just a little more money. Apparently, the HOA members have better incomes than some of the rest of us and I often wonder when we'll get to the breaking point for the average Silver or Gold week owner.

After I posted this, I started to wonder if this is new or old drawings. The splash park in these drawings looks so expansive, with a pirate ship slide complex and water tipping buckets, but is any of that there, now?

I wonder if the pool slide pictured was/is maybe for the Marriott hotel on Singer Island? Just wondering, as we are going to be there next summer and would LOVE a pool slide.

I really had my heart set on going to OceanWatch next summer but we couldn't get in and then Ocean Pointe was available so we took it. I'm excited about Ocean Pointe, but I am trying to find things about the resort that are better than OceanWatch.

Looking at the other photos, the aerial shots do not include the Kingfish building. My guess is that these are old conceptual drawings and the splash park (looks like it was to be where the shuffleboard is) and the slide were in original plans but then dropped from the final design.

This looks like it was the company that was the architect and design firm for the Kingfish building.

I knew somoene would figure this out. I know for certain there is now a splash park, but I can't immagine it is anything as big as in these drawings. I do not know where the splash park is, but it must not be anything special. Thanks.

There is nothing resembling a splash park at OP and after checking with a person who would know there are no current plans to build one. I think these are old drawings prior to the construction of Kingfish. OP was supposed to be much larger than it's current layout. Marriott's inability to buy the property between Kingfish and Pompano laid waste to Marriott's original vision of Ocean Pointe.

I think there is a small kiddie pool at the very north end, there might be a couple of small splash fountains. That would be all. Nothing I would define as a "splash park"

If you want to get an idea of the amenities and units at Ocean Pointe, you might want to look through our latest photo album at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/Travel/Ocean-Pointe-112010/14528653_tB5LgN#1083425425_uboQ3 . The unit we were in is the 2 bedroom Master unit of a 3 bedroom ocean front unit so, it won't be the same layout as a 2 bedroom unit.

I will be posting an updated album next month.

Glad to hear there are no new plans for additional amenities at this time. I think Ocean Pointe has about all the amenities our poor pocketbook can handle. I doubt MF's will ever go down and, if we keep adding items that require maintenance and future refurbishment, MF's will only continue to escalate at a rate faster than the typical expensive Marriott resort.
