We've exchanged into a 2br at Oasis Lakes at the Fountains in Orlando for the end of January-early February this year. The last TUG review for this was in 2004. Does anyone have more recent insights on the resort property/units/amenities/etc? I've read post about guests calling the resort ahead of time for special requests. It sounds like a great idea although I've never done that before. Any notable special requests I might want at this resort? We will not be travelling with children and won't do Disney this time. TIA!

The resort is wonderful. I stayed last summer with kids and that was the main reason it was so good (lots of activities for kids) Besides that the resort is very nice with a beautiful clubhouse. The units are very nice, clean and spacious. The indoor/outdoor pool (not sure if it is heated) is great, The pool bar is a little overpriced but fair serves good drinks and food. The lake is nice to look at but that is about it fishing was definitely not good. The fish in my tank are bigger than what I caught. Best of all the location is perfect if your not doing Disney or Seaworld as it is away from the majority hustle and bustle but still on I drive. I would go back with or without kids.

Oooo...sounds intriguing! We ARE in a sleep 8 according to the RCI exchange. Should I request a certain building (if that's even possible) for a particular type unit or view? In any case I like what I'm hearing so far. Our unusually mild winter seems to have come to an end here and the 'real' winter has arrived so I'm getting that much more excited to get to Florida. Of course, I'm gonna have to try the lake fishing at the resort to report if the fish have grown! ;)

Thanks for the replies! (keep 'em coming!)

The building just left of the clubhouse (Facing the clubhouse) would have the best view of the lake I was 2 to the left and still had a good view of the lake. I dont know which numbers these are but either is really good location. The good news is they even sell bait (Meal worms and Night crawlers) for your fishing, although not very lively bait, priced like you would get at Wal-mart. The fish didnt seem to mind the worms were not squirming. :D . I am sure you will love it. No expense was spared while building there. There is no neighbor noise from either side or above or below. I was checking out the construction while there and there must be close to a foot of concrete between the floors. Enjoy and congrats on the good trade.

Oasis Lakes @ The Fountains

Friends of ours stayed in a 2 bedroom/ sleep 8 unit & just loved it. The unit they had was approx. 1400 sq. ft.
