I have some rescued points that expire in December -- does anyone know how I can use them to get HGVC resort booking in NYC. I understand there is a Hilton Club but not clear whether this classifies as a HGVC resort since resued points can only be exchanged for HGVC properties.

The "Hilton Club" and "West 57th Street by Hilton Club," both in NY, are two different properties. The first is not a HGVC property, but the second is... go figure. In any event, its unlikely you'll be able to book it. Club reservations are only allowed from 44 days B4 check-out to 1 day B4 check-in. Good luck.

44 days before checkout club reservations for W 57th St:wall: I was going to NJ in 2010 (Wife family turn for Xmas), and use my points to stay in W. 57th ST as part of our stay in NJ (2weeks in NJ and 1 week in NY). Now I have to re-look at were I want to do with my 2010 points.

Yep! West 57th Street owners get both (a) the usual Home Reservation period for their specific season+size, and (b) an exclusive "Home Resort" reservation period from 9 mos. to 45 days out.

From the Guide: "For owners of select new Club resorts, an additional advantage offers exclusive advance reservations benefits through the Home Resort reservation window. Currently, Home Resort reservations are only offered to owners of West 57th Street by Hilton Club." (Members Guide, p.140.)

To get them to open their wallets or checkbooks, well-heeled prospects were apparently told that they would not have to compete for reservations there with the riff-raff who foolishly bought at lesser-resorts.
