I was just going to post that link...interesting article.

“People need to understand that the rules of social order do not go away when you get on an airplane,” Tim added, his Texan twang kicking up a notch as he laid down his commandments. “You cannot have sex on an airplane. When you purchase a ticket, that does not give you the privilege of yelling at me. It does not give you the privilege of sitting anywhere you want to sit. They assign you a seat. I do not have an extra airplane in my pocket if my flight’s delayed.”

I have often wondered how someone can do that job and remain sane. Working with the general public en masse is never good news.

But, I had to laugh over the part about being a quasi-celebrity. It was kind of true, but how did that make Jack@!* passengers or barfbags more tolerable ?

Interesting article but if the job is so bad why are those ladies still working at it in their fifties Two of my former MBA students who graduated about seven years ago are still flight attendents. They decided that with all the senority that they had with American Airlines they would have to take a substantial pay cut and work longer hours if they switched jobs. Initially, I thought it was such a waste of their talents because they are very bright women who could have done well in corporate America. But they seem content with their decisions and are happy with the money they make and their work hours.
