Nuevo Vallarta or Puerto Vallarta

When we were in Mexico several years back I think we used a debit card at ATM for exchanging is that the better way to go.

HI, my two cents:

I toured the Mayan and really didn't like it. Most of the units are too far away from the ocean to hear it...and hearing it is very important to me,especially at night. I own at Paradise Village Resort and think you might find it much nicer: lots of activiities including a huge spa and a huge sports facility with its own spa, a zoo for the kids (last year I got to hold and cuddle with two adorable Bengal Tiger cubs) , several pools/spas and lots of activiites for the kids and many for the adults .Several good restaurants on site and Paradise Village has its own shopping center with grocery store and boutiques and restaurants (including McD's and subway if you need an American fix) just outside the resort's gate. There is an all inclusive, but I wouldn't recommend it as you have freedom to eat anywhere on /off the resort for less. Plus the kitchens are great for cooking.

PM me or email at goDThompson@aol.com ifyou are interested in hearing more about Paradise....my points are gone for this year, but my girlfriend forgot to bank hers and if there is availability, she can get you a great deal!

It is a good way to go depending on any fees that may be applied. Ask your financial institution about fees, if any, for doing this. Just make sure to only use ATMs in a secured location like at a bank.

I second John's recommendation to only use ATMs at a secure location like a bank, after a surprise 3 months after a trip a couple of years ago. Three couples we were with were affected (we all used the same ATM machine), but luckily our banks were insured for this.
