What kind of weather and ocean temp can I expect in Nuevo Vallarta December (Xmas week)?

Coolish during the day and night- 70- is what we were told las Feb when we asked at our hotel about temps Xmas week
 
Per weather.com, the average high is 80-81 F, and the average low is 62-64 F.
 
When we were there in Feb it was warm 70's during the day but you needed a sweater at night as it got cool.
