We have electricity!!

After 3-1/2 days of being without electricity we are now back up and operating. Life for me is returning back to normal now! I have passed the portable generator that I used for the refrigerator, single television and single lamp, on to my elderly neighbors across the street. They have been without electricity since last Friday evening.

Bless their dear soles, these neighbors have become very dependent on us in the last few days, mainly for evening meals and simple comfort. Before last week the gentleman would have had to much pride to even consider borrowning a generator, but he sure was a happy camper when my wife offered it to them. When leaving for work this morning, I could see a light on and the man & woman sitting at their table drinkig coffee. It made me happy. :)

At work power was restored Monday, but I only went to check on things and to borrow a few tools. I then went back home to semi-rebuild my fence which I really needed to keep the dogs in. I returned to work on Tuesday (full internet access). As of today we still only have half of our employees back at work.

In the neighborhood, kids still have the week off and are having a blast.

Thanks to all for your kind words and support.

Terry

Hi Terry,

Our prayers for you worked!

Just curious . . . how can you use the internet without power? I know you probably have a laptop on battery power, but I'm wondering if the internet works without power. I don't think mine would because it is cable.

Internet at work.
Haven't yet checked, but I hope to have it at home this evening.

We are still without power this is day 6 now. The rumor is we might get power by Monday. And I think the weather is going to start to get warmer again this weekend. Well I found out my health club is back opened up so we might just go down to the pool... and I can charge my laptop over there. We had no damage to house just tree branches and limbs down and small section of back fence.
