Our trust and wills are up to date. We did that a few years ago. But what dh and I need to do is sit down make lists of all of our accounts, passwords, where to find things, etc. For example, I have the keys to our safe deposit boxes. I doubt anyone else knows where there are.

It is a monumental task! You cannot believe how much work it really is. You need to write down all user names and passwords- for social media, on line stores, banks, and credit cards, etc. Then just think how many times you have to change your passwords and how many new sites you create user names and passwords for each year. Also account nembers and ohone numbers and also the answers to the security questions! I am telling you, mine is several pages and it makes me nuts having to keep up with it. I have it on a USB stick and I also keep a paper copy, which also has to be constantly updated, and keep it in the safe.

Then, yes, instructions as to where everything is and also your final wishes and anything else final you want to say.

Our will is so old that it gives custody of our one minor child (he was a teen) to the oldest should we both die together. That young one is 31 years old now!

An attorney in my country is giving free health care proxies to anyone over 60. I had them prepare one for me, DH and my 81 year old mother. I brought it to her today.

All of our assets are jointly owned. After things settle down, we will have a new will made.

At breakfast this morning, DH said...Not to be morbid but we should really update our wills. I hate to say it but he is right. If you get this thing, you could be gone in a matter of days. we will be updating ours and making sure everything is in order just in case the worst happens.

Are you prepared?

Yup. We went through this last fall. Made some changes but the song remains the same.

Great minds working together. DW and I had this conversation last night. I had sat down and written a 'Just in case' letter a few days ago where I wrote down usernames, passwords, where to find, . . . I expect to add to it over time, but with this damn CV19, one spouse can go suddenly to enforced quarantine, the other not allowed there, and one expires without even an I Love You. It's important to dot those 'I's, and cross those 'T's.

Jim

PS. I suggested DW advertise her family planning services. She isn't into having people come to her office.

I didn't think of the user name and password dealio. Thanks for the idea JIm. I might also leave a treasure map just for kicks.

I need to update mine. I'm not even 100% sure that we ever notarized our last one. I guess I'll get on that this weekend.

For wills, trusts, surrogacy forms and power of attorney

Florida’s new statute allowing "online"
execution will not be effective until July 1.

Floridians are asking their lawyers to (re) write their wills, update estate plans and prepare health surrogate or pull the plug documents and adding language to their documents that will authorize your surrogate to give instructions over the phone, by email or during an online conference.

Using a RON (remote online notary) would appear to be just as much trouble as sitting down with a RLN (real life notary) at a legal office or even a bank -- 6' away.

On the iPhone there's a place under Settings if you scroll down far enough that is called Passwords & Accounts. If you have an Apple computer and you link your passwords they should all be in that section. I don't know exactly how it all works but I do notice when I set up a new password on some website I get a message asking if I want it to be saved on all my devices. I do and that's how it gets to the phone I guess.

So if you give your designated person who's going to handle all your stuff after you pass the password for your phone, they could access all the other passwords that way.

Thanks.

I don’t have an Apple computer. And I don’t do banking and anything important on my iPhone.

Plys I feel strongly there should be a paper copy.

I laughed when I read the line concerning online execution
