Not all villas at the resort are created equal

Out of personal curiosity, I would like to get your take on what units, at a given resort, are more valued by their owners. I think this is mainly related to owners of fixed villas or views. To keep things simple, let's keep it independent of the season or week owned. IMHO, the following are more valuable to their owners:

WSJ Pool Villas, not all pool villas have the same floor plan or amenities.
WKORV OFD and OF, mainly tied to their floor (the higher the better)?
Harborside Phase I, for owners who care about a specific view.

Any others?

Hmmmm...How do you want to treat resorts that have ocean front, ocean view and scenic/garden view units?

I don't understand the question? Aren't you just asking what the best locations at each resort are? "Value" is in the eye of the beholder.

Also, WKORV-N/S were not sold as fixed weeks - you have to pay 20% more, so I don't think fixed weeks are real common. It's pretty universally accepted that Oceanfront Center in the South Phase is the "best" deeded view.

Example of "value" - My (rather odd) neighbors went to Maui on their honeymoon, and paid big bucks for an ocean front room. The next day they asked to be moved to the back of the resort, because the ocean was "too loud." ;)

'Best' is certainly in the eye of the beholder - I would consider OFD to be best deeded view (MF aside...). As stated - I think that the OFD is best in SVO (MF aside)

Robin won't let us sleep with sliding door open because the ocean never sleeps... but those doors are thick - no sound when closed.

Agree, best is in the eye of the beholder. So, let's see if I can make this simpler for everyone. Assume Starwood will give you 3 completely free units (you just need to say what unit you want :hysterical:). The units will be given to you maintenance free until the end of time. Only one unit can be picked at any given resort. The unit numbers can be magically fixed as can the week number.

So, my list would be:

WSJ 3 BD Pool Villa Unit 43XX (any building 43 unit), Week 52
WKORV 2 BDLO OFD Building 2 in corner adjacent to Pool on 6 Floor (or whatever the highest floor is), Week 52
Harborside Phase I 2 BDLO Units 4718/4719, Week 52

That's my wish list...:whoopie:

I would never prefer to spend week 52 (or 51, or Prez Day, or Easter Break or July4..., or any high-season week) at any vacation resort... too crowded, too costly...

can we get them for free - then can we sale them nor rent them? then, happy to have week 52...

...this is a questionable exercise at best, but...

#1: WKORV OFD, B2 - 6 floor overlooking pool
#2: WPORV B7 1st floor corner in HH section
#3: WSJ-VGV - the 2Bd TH villa I own (late-April to 1st week in July) - 3Bd pools are nice, but no view...

WKORVS - OFC - 6th floor - week 52 - would have the highest dollar value (resale and rental) but...

I would politely decline - the MF's are too high! ;)

Alternating WKORV OFC and WSJ BV early to late February. Hawaii is awesome anytime, but there's something especially nice about leaving the cold and arriving at a tropical destination. On Maui, seeing whales breaching would be an added bonus. I love this resort. If only it was closer to my home! Really, the only negatives I can think of are the dearth of tennis courts (too few) and the super early check-out time which never jives with red eyes. (I've learned to leave the night before.)

WSJ BV 2 bdrm lofts are a close 2nd. A 3 bdrm would also be nice, I guess (I think BV has them) if I wanted to bring several couples. I love the loft units because they're so spacious. Don't need my own pool because I kind of like the atmosphere of the main pool.

3rd - Hmm. San Diego?
