A big nevermind. We have been made aware that our dear resort has shuttered. The management company has laid off all employees and walked away. I am unsure of the resorts' status as it will likely be in limbo for the foreseeable future.

They were running Crown Resorts in the Poconos, which used to be called Quail Hollow at Beech Mountain Lakes, and they did the same thing. They ran it into the ground so a bunch of building were condemned and then they kept saying they were going to renovate, they were going to renovate, and then bam, it was closed. Terrible.

The question remains... what is next for a derelict resort?

This past summer, we visited Wolf Run Manor / Silverwoods at Treasure Lake in Dubois, PA. The place reminded me quite a bit of Hiawatha Manor West - quite dilapidated. We even saw that ground hogs were camping under several of the buildings. We saw very few other guests. It seemed to be on the verge of collapse. It made me wonder what would happen to a place like that if it did collapse? Little did I know that I would be on the path to find out for myself.

I own there too. I cannot find out anything about the resort. I knew in October 2024 there was a problem. I booked one week for my aunt. She arrived and nobody was there. I didn’t receive a call or email.

Management of the resort should sent out letters.

I think the problem is, there is no management any longer. The HOA is probably not equipped to do so. If/when we do hear from them, it may be to vote on a deal to sell. I'd be happy to terminate my ownership and walk away.
