Due to the uncertainty of being able to exchange into prime areas during prime season I have decided not to purchase the Hilton affiliated property in south west Flordia. Thanks to all who responded to my questions.
Always best to make a decision with good information. I prefer the true-HGVC resorts for my needs. The FL affiliates have some quirks that make them less user-friendly. Though, some trade into II, which would be nice.

Sounds like you've made a good, informed, decision.
Because the game of timesharing changes regularly, it's best to own at locations where you want to go if all else fails.
When we first bought our HGVC in Vegas, getting Hawaii wasn't that difficult. Now, with all the additional sales in Orlando and Vegas and the salesmen telling everyone it's "easy" to get Hawaii, Hawaii's getting tougher. Add to it the new builds in Hawaii take more points and the compitition for lower point total units like Kalia or Lagoon towers is getting tougher by the year. Eventually some of those who have purchased those high point units in Hawaii will figure out (if the salesmens aren't already pointing it out) that they can stretch their value by trying to book the lower point value units.
If you want prime time units, IMHO, it's best own those unit vs going less expensive and hoping you can get what you want.
