"Nights in Rodanthe" Like OBX,NC

The movie, "Nights in Rodanthe," starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane, is schedule to be relased nationwide today. In this romance movie, the Outer Bank plays its own role. A three-story house called Serendipity stands farther out in the ocean than any other on the beach in Rodanthe, NC in the Outer Banks (OBX). This house is the star of the movie - the house is "Serendipity." The house is situated on the southern border of Pea Island Natonal Wildlife Refuge on Hatteras Island.

Rodanthe is where Hatteras High is located. But luckily it's south of the area that you're referring to. Where Hatteras High is, the beach is more stable and there are dunes to protect the resort.

Nicolas Sparks in the author that the book that the movie is based on. He lives in New Bern, NC and basis most of his books are set in that area. The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and Message in a Bottle are 3 of his novels that have been made into movies.
