I am a new destination points owner (thanks to the 'free' weeks enrollment offer) and have a newbie banking question. Say I have 1000 2016 DPs and 1000 2017 DPs and I'm looking in February 2016 for a March 2017 2000 DP reservation.

Do I have to bank my 2016 points BEFORE I can see availability for that reservation? Or does it do the 'right' thing and show me the booking and somewhere along the way ask me if I want to bank the points?

The system will take into consideration borrowable points when determining your available points when searching for ressie's, but it was discovered by a TUGger not too long ago, that the system unfortunately (at least at that point in time) did not consider bankable points when searching. That said, your best bet in that situation is to call a VOA and have them search availability, as they can see everything, and if what you want is available, you can have them put the ressie on hold, bank your points forward, and then secure the ressie.

Good luck.
