Newbie - 3 exchange questions

We purchased a Monarch week, by resale, from a third party.
Early March week, so off-season.

Questions in looking ahead to 2013:

(1) can we still exchange through Marriott or are we limited to an exchange company? I know we are excluded from something due to the third-party resale, but cannot remember what.

(2) if we want to exchange into Marriott at Williamsburg (also off-season), would we have a better chance with Marriott or II?

(3) With Marriott, it's "twelve months" from the date I want to check-in, when I call them, right?

Check the Marriott FAQ sticky at the top of this page. You will have to join II to exchange into Williamsburg.

Re Question 3 - If your Monarch week is fixed, and most Monarch weeks are, that week is what you'll get. Otherwise it is 12 months prior.
