It seems the transfer has finally happened because I received a letter with a member number and I can access the Wyndham member site. However, I did not get any other paperwork or books etc. The ebay ad said it came with an RCI membership and I haven't received anything about that. I am the type of person that likes to read all the manuals, directions, instructions and so on. When we bought a TS from a developer (subsequently cancelled), we were given a 20 pound three ring binder. Information galore! Will we get anything other than this one page letter? And what about the Deed? Will that come later. I know I can call Wyndham and ask these questions, but I'd like a Tugger insight. Thanks.

What you got is what you get

No, Wyndham already supplied that 400+ pages to the original buyer and they will not do again to you. The original buyer has to pass it along or you pay to get one (either from Wyndham IF they do that or from some owner willing to part with theirs). It would be old as it never gets updated after the original handout is done. You can find all the same, but updated, program information on line at the Wyndham site with some serious digging. You cannot find the disclosure on line (the really big 400+ page book) as that is resort specific and unless the individual resort has posted it on line the paper version are the only ones that exist. A call to the resort might get an answer on availability of that document.

The RCI account comes with the Wyndham ownership. If you already have an RCI number then get that to Wyndham & they will pick up the annual fee as part of your Wyndham annual cost. If you don't have one they will create one. Either way you need to speak to Wyndham about that.

The deed should be recorded & a copy sent to you. Whoever did your closing and transfer should see to that. You have everything Wyndham will give you except that RCI number. Basically Wyndham has no interest in resale and do the absolute minimum they can when dealing with it.

I'm not surprised

I'm not surprised but I am a little disappointed. Thanks for your straight and honest answer. I guess that book is not worth the thousands it would have cost me to buy from the resort.

Call member services and ask for your paper copy of the new "Members Directory 2009-2010". If the old owner didn't request one, you should be able to get your paper copy free. Wyndham put the directory up online and made the owners request the paper form.

I knew this was the place to ask. Thank you so much.

There's a place on the website to request your paper copy of the resort directory. I was allowed one free of charge and if I wanted more than one I had to pay extra.

I found it and ordered one. The fee for an extra copy is $12. Thanks again to all.

I bought in Jan from someone other than Wyndham. When I called to get info, I asked for the book. They said they could send me one free but if I wanted more, they would cost me. They were very helpful for this new buyer!

daytripper,

How long did this transfer process take for you? We purchased a resale and our deeds were recorded on August 5. Wyndham received our documents August 20. So I'm curious as to how long I need to wait to access my membership.

Thanks,
Doug

6 to 8 weeks for Wyndham to process their transfer. I purchased a deed in May, recorded and forwarded to Wyndham on July 9th and still not processed.

Wyndham Transfer

I can't remember exactly, but after reading Jason's comment it does seem that they told me 6-8 weeks for processing. Then it took all of that time to get it. You could call them and check for yourself, but they weren't extremely helpful to me. My guess is that when you don't buy from the resort that they wait as long as possible. Am I paranoid? It really didn't matter in my case, but I was anxious to start looking at the possiblities. My first bill was for 2 months, now I'm waiting for a new bill.

It will get a 2009-2010 printed copy for free. Should I assume that when the 2010-2011 edition comes out that members can get a copy of that for free?? (i.e.- members allowed to get a free annual printed copy) I'm all about using the internet, but I think it is nice to have a hard copy on hand.

Hi and welcome :)

I think they stopped sending printed copies automatically but when they come out, all owners who want one can request a printed copy. This year they did not charge anything for a single print copy. If you wanted additionals, they would charge you for extra copies. Oh...or if you want to purchase retail from the developer, they will automatically give you a "free" copy at the time of your purchase :) ha-ha.

Last year the new directory came out in April, so I am wondering if they are even going to do an updated hard copy this year...

I would think the directory will be updated this year since Towers Grove and Reunion Resorts were added along with the new tower at Bonnet Creek.
