New Vistana IT Issue

I'm starting to wonder if at some point they'll use it as a sales angle: buy more from us retail to requalify your resales and we'll be able to merge your accounts into one.
Perhaps. If this is also a permanent change, could it have a negative impact on resale pricing?

Yes. I already passed on a small mandatory resale contract because of that. Doesn't make sense to pay an additional full membership fee, it makes it uneconomical.

Last year we purchased an additional week at Westin St. John. We already have another week in Maui at the Westin Nanea.

At Vistana, it only shows the Nanea property. I paid the yearly association fees on that one online, However, I can't pay the fees for St John since I only have a phone number to Vistana and they aren't answering the phone today. I called 3 times. They tell you to press numbers and they will call you back. So far I haven't heard from them.

Also, it looks like I have to pay 2023 Owner Dues on each timeshare. ???

What's going on with them? I can't believe this is being so poorly handled.

What's a good email to Vistana since they aren't answering the phone. Not even to take payments.

What phase of Westin St John did you buy? Was it the mandatory Virgin Grand phases or one of the others?

Virgin Grand. I still didn't hear from them.
Your Club Dues fee should only be getting billed along with your WSJ Virgin Grand maintenance fees on the same bill.

I finally got through to Marriott Vacation Club (someone from Marriott gave me their phone) after waiting for over a hour. All the other numbers just tell you to either wait for a call back, or call back later and then abruptly hangs up on you (well the robot hangs up on you). The Marriott agent then transferred me to someone who let me pay my fees for St. John VI on my Bonvoy card. He told me they have 500 people working those phones, and that the first 2 weeks of January are just horrible because people are paying their dues, etc. So the phone situation should get better next week. Or so I hope. I still need to get the two timeshares together on the Vistana site; but one thing at a time. The agent also told me I should only have to pay one $230.00 fee [2023 Owners Dues] so I only paid one of them (for some reason, the Vistana site had them separate, I could pay the maintenance fees with a different click. However, I need to get the two timeshares together at Vistana. What a nightmare....

The fact that your VOIs aren't under the same account explains why you were billed twice for the Club Dues.

OP’er here. Vistana CSR told me specifically that even though they are unable to merge both ownerships under the same membership number at this time, the one $230 Club membership we were billed for and have paid is recognized as covering both ownerships in their system. But again, these two ownerships were both developer purchases, so maybe that is the difference.

I encountered an issue with my fixed/fixed WSJ ownership. I confirmed my March 2024 week on August 31, 2022. I have the email with the confirmation number.

Today I happened to look at my reservations (because of all the problems people are mentioning) and my March 2024 week was listed in my account as unconfirmed and if I hadn't noticed, it would have been added to the reservation pool on May 1!

I'm really curious to know what would have happened if I had not looked at my account. Would they have released my week to the 10-8 month VGV owner reservation pool and then on to the general SVN reservation pool at the 8 month mark? What would happen when I provided my confirmation email? I kinda wish I hadn't noticed just to see what would occur. I have never let it get close to my 10 month deadline. Does anyone know if a reminder email goes out saying the deadline is approaching?

They do not send out reminders.
They would have need to put you in similar villa (or better) at same time period. They aren’t actually require to give you same villa under certain circumstances. Not sure if that covers ineptitude…

Marriott needs to fire those in charge of IT.

A new update to my OP. We had an owner update at Nanea over the weekend which actually went well (I will post more on that elsewhere), but the rep we were with said this multiple login issue is a major complaint they hear from other owners. His explanation was that MVW is treating the ownerships as 5 separate entities: MVC, SVC, WVC, GRM (Grand Residences by Marriott), and R-CC (The Ritz-Carlton Club). He said there is no plan to be able to merge these under one ownership access portal. When any of these ownerships are converted into club points, then you can see the converted club points in Abound. On a webpage he went to that is the currency converter to Abound, was a drop-down that required you to pick from one of the 5 ownership types above. I’m not sure if that calculator is accessible by any of us owners.

Still sounds odd, but that is what I was told.

Lier, lier pants on fire. Just like before the Abound integration rolled out, this is all speculation from sales (trying to make a sale) who has no real insider information about what is really happening.
Case in point: There has been reports of people finding the right rep who then helped them set up an account that had all VOI's combined into the one new account. Sorry, I do not have the links to those posts as they are all scattered around different threads.
My own experience is as follows: We acquired an Aventuras VOI in October. During that time I had resale requalified from a Marriott purchase. The resale VOI's was done first and together and I could see and elect all of them in the same account. After paying the final amount for Aventuras in December, I waited and could not see it in my account after 4 weeks. I contacted the rep who sold it and was told they cannot combine accounts at this time and I have to set up a new seperate account. I filed a complaint with BBB. I then wrote back to the rep stating that I feel they are legally obligated to tell future owners of this problem as I would not have bought knowing I cannot combine my bonus Staroptions or even my future normal Staroptions with my other accounts. This would lead to possible wastage of points. I have also had an online Marriott presentation where I said I am not buying anything more till the IT woes are sorted (Funny thing is one of my complaints was about being unable to log in and when the rep tried it on the day he couldn't log in either. Not even with the corporate account ).
Two weeks after my letter to the rep my VOI's were all merged and I could see and elect all in the old and the newly set up account. That is what makes me think the sales people have no cooking clue and they are just coming up with their own speculative answers to make a sale. I certainly would not buy with that explanation because it reduces the functionality of your new and old VOI's.

At least I now have an easy out for many years (I cannot see Marriott IT getting their act together, if ever, for a long time) to come as I plan to sit through more presentations to take some gifts as compensation for their poor IT system and the aggravation it causes. If they ask why I am there that will be my straight face answer.

I don’t know why any of you believe anything sales says. It’s just so sad to see these posts year in and year out. When will you learn?

I am not saying I believed what I was told. I am merely relating what I was told after a strongly worded complaint to a sales rep. I should have made that clear above.

We already know that WVC and SVC have the same single website and login.

I am glad you posted. We are building on our collection of sales people lies and half truths. If someone finds this forum to confirm what they jave been told they can come to their own conclusions.

I am glad you have brought to light this issue . Others have reported that Vistana no longer merges accounts. So now we know.
Thanks.
