New to HGVmax through Bluegreen. What to expect now?

Just days ago we upgraded to HGV max. They showed us how the conversion from Bluegreen to Hilton points will work and how they can be used.

The problem for me is that they claim that an average point total for a week with Hilton is anything that I can currently see when signed in through the Hilton app. Can I expect that a stay at these Hilton properties, as well as other branded properties, will be less expensive once my access through HGV Max is active?

This stuff can be a little confusing at the best of times. I'm just hoping to gain some clarity. I haven't even been able to find much of a breakdown on any Bluegreen or Hilton sites.

The ability to add MAX will always be there. Did you have any special status or benefits with BlueGreen? I am guessing any special status/benefits will disappear if you add MAX. Remember MAX is simply the opportunity to Book into other Systems with a short Booking Window. There is no guarantee of availability. We are Platinum with HVC/DRI. If we added MAX we would lose all the Benefits we have with our Platinum DRI Account such as an extra 30 day Booking Window, Room Selection, free upgrades, etc.

What are they charging to add MAX these days anyway?

I've read that people lose status. That's not a thing for us. We're silver bluegreen. And it will stay that way. It'll be a 7 month booking window. And that does bother me some. A lot different than my bluegreen 13 month window. But that's awful. To lose your status by adding something? That's a massive deterrent

Yeah last Spring we were at Grand Pacific Palisades and attend a Sales Pitch at Marbrisa to get our daily fees covered. The Sales Man thought we were fools when we kept saying we were not interested in MAX. He went away to talk to his Manager. His Manager had been a Sales Manager at DRI before HILTON bought control of DRI. The Sales Manager took a look at our DRI Account and said we should never buy MAX. We would lose almost all our Bennies.

So if you are DRI, BlueGreen, etc that Hilton bought control and they pitch MAX at you ask the Sales Person to explain what you will give up if you buy into MAX. We are able to Book into HGVC Resorts through RCI with our Worldmark Account at 12 and 13 months. One can pay for years of RCI Exchange Fees for what they want to join MAX and we do not give up our HCV/DRI Platinum Benefits.

That just sounds crazy to me. Financial cost is one thing, and that alone is a big thing of course. But to lose status? For people that sign off on that, I feel they're really being taken advantage of in a horrible way.

We do like the sound of everything that we get with as we have signed up for. Couple days left to rescind, but we'll probably stick with it.. I think
